Backers,

We first want to start off by saying that we appreciate everyone's support and patience throughout this whole manufacturing process.  This has been a dream of ours over the last few years and we've had the opportunity to make that a reality over the past year in part to you via Kickstarter. We knew it wasn't going to be easy but did we think it would take this long and be this difficult to make the Eagle Cap-Off? HELL NO but we have stayed true to our mission and are making this product the way we have always intended despite the challenges!

As with anything being crafted in smaller production numbers, hand assembled and made to the highest quality...IT TAKES TIME! There is no easy way around it or corners to cut especially when dealing with expensive metals, tooling, dies, machined parts, etc. From the start, the form and function of the Eagle Cap-Off was not and still is not something we are willing to compromise on any level.  We aren't in this to make a quick buck or to ship faster by sending the work overseas. So we ask everyone to please keep things in perspective and try to remain positive as we prepare to ship.  Instead, lets focus on the local businesses we are helping to support and the jobs we hope to create as this venture grows right here in the USA!

As we stated from the start, we loved the vintage look, the unique bottle opening experience and the story behind the Eagle Lock Company and Cap-Off. Our reasons for embarking on this journey were out of pure passion for craft beer and we wanted to share this great bottle opener with other like minded enthusiasts.  Where we are today is by no lack of effort as this has been a top priority of our team as it will continue to be until our promise to deliver is fulfilled. The negative comments posted on the Kickstarter updates, comments page and on social media are unnecessary and do no one any good. We have done our best to respond to each and every legitimate inquiry received and will continue to make ourselves available.

Also please do not forget that we all here at Cap-Off have young families, full-time jobs and have risked huge investments in time and finances with this venture. We know our backers are getting a little anxious and we feel your pain, this has been a long time coming for us as well! Believe us when we tell you that we want this more than anyone out there and are making it happen. It may not be exactly or as quickly as we had planned or hopped but we are getting there and that's all that should matter!

Production started in late November and things moved slow as expected while we fined tuned the process and started assembly.  We started to gain momentum and get in a rhythm by the time December rolled around then we ran into some unexpected trouble. These setbacks really put a damper on our ability to produce finished goods but kept working to partially assemble the units with the hopes of staying on schedule. The major problem was one of the main components of our stamping tool cracked. We are still looking into the causes but regardless, we just got the tool back up and running this week.

Another issue that was beyond our control was vendor related and we were forced to find a new source for the machined parts. We rely on 6 different sources for material, parts, services and manufacturing to make the Eagle Cap-Off.  We are making an all metal tool from scratch and with all the moving pieces and intricate details, setbacks are possible and unfortunately were realized. These major complications along with a few other smaller problems were resolved and behind us now.

At this point we are back to business but it looks like we will miss the mark on getting everything out the door by next week.  That doesn't mean we aren't going to keep on producing before the holidays but we wanted to be up front and honest with everyone in case you planned on gifting the Cap-Off. We plan to ship out what inventory we have accumulated (still not certain on the exact quantity until next week) but the bulk of the rewards will go out starting after the new year.  That being said, our focus is going to be producing over the next few weeks.  We WILL NOT be responding to any shipping related inquires via email, phone, text, Kickstarter, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc until we announce we are officially shipping in the new year!

Due to the restrictions on staging space and order accuracy, we will be shipping the rewards in groups based on the reward type and not order of pledge. The single unit US orders being the first to go out and the multi-unit international orders being the last.  We apologize in advance for any inconvenience but it is what it is and we are doing our best to get your Eagle-Cap-Offs out the door!

Again, we thank each and every one of our supporters who believed in our cause. We will not let you down and will uphold our commitment to manufacture the best Cap-Off to date!  Please have a safe and happy holiday season with your family, friends and loved ones!  Well be in touch after the new year with an update as to our our progress and details on reward shipments.

Please remember, we WILL NOT be responding to any shipping related inquires via email, phone, text, Kickstarter, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc until we announce we are officially shipping in the new year!

Happy Holidays, Matt & Mike

Good stuff guys. Keep up the great work. There will always be unexpected trouble, so no worries on my front. I look forward to the product when it is ready. I am only one person, but if makes any difference, I am perfectly fine with my Eagle Cap-Off being the very last one shipped if it makes other people happy to get theirs just a little bit earlier!

Thanks for the update guys. I happen to head up a fulfillment department with about 40 people working for me. I also deal with several outside vendors that we rely upon to help us finish our projects. Situations occasionally arise that leave us with the choice of getting it done quickly and on time or correctly and a little late. I would much rather explain something being late then wrong. Keep up the hard work, it will pay off.

Thanks guys for all you hard work. I've lived 44 years without this awesome product so I'm sure I can make it a little longer. It's sounds like it's been quite a challenge. Congrats for sticking with it and I'm looking forward to getting my Cap-Off when it gets here. Happy Holidays to you and your families! Cheers!
