WHO WE ARE
Please join us in getting The 6 Degrees of Separation Restaurant and Brewery operational. We plan to repurpose a 100+ year old warehouse located at the Westerly Marina, on the eastern shore of the Hudson River in Ossining, NY and turn it into a brewery and restaurant. This project was conceived by Scott Ryan, a home brewer with over 20 years experience. Ron McKechnie, the brewmaster, is on the team and is a graduate of the UC-Davis Master Brewer's program. While Scott wails for ales and incorporate lots of fruits, Ron longs for lagers. Between the two of us, we'll produce a large variety beverages, sure to please any palate. Glenn Sayers, a budding brewer, already has a smoked porter under his belt and is sure to add yet another facet to our selection of beers.
Our video was created and produced by David Pond. He can be reached at: email@example.com and his company is Little Tree Media (littletreemedia.com). Gregg Hinlicky is our artist and his rendition of the outside can be seen below. More of his other work can be found at: http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/gregg-hinlicky.html . Jim Bossinas and Brian Paddack of DBP Architecture ( http://www.dbparchitecture.com ) are our architects. We have added the talents of Tom Hiro and his associates (construction managers and general contractors) at Shawmut Design and Construction to our team as well. Their work can be seen on their website: http://www.shawmut.com.
Our team is growing and we want you to be a part of something amazing. We will be a cornerstone of the revitalization of the Ossining waterfront. Other projects are planned for the area including an upscale housing complex and a Sing Sing museum. Both are nearby to the building where we are planning to be located. Both the Ossining train station and Waterway taxi from Haverstraw, NY are in walking distance.
WHAT WE ARE ABOUT
In addition to serving fine craft beer, our family-friendly establishment will also provide a venue for local artists to share their creations. These can include, but are not limited to: music, art, photography, theater. This place will provide a much needed location for the local community to patronize. We will also be a designation location for patrons coming from the surrounding counties and New York City.
We will also support the community through many other avenues. Local farms, as well as vineyards and cheese makers, will be sourced for their products. We also plan to use grains and hops produced in New York.
THE BOTTOM LINE
It'll take a village to raise a brewery!!
We will be located at the Westerly Marina in Ossining, NY. The views of the Hudson River and the Palisades to the west and north are unparalleled.
The bricks that we are offering on our site are from: http://donorbricks.com . If you are getting a 4"x8"brick, then you can up to 3 lines of text, with each line containing 16-20 characters. An 8"x8" brick can get you up to 8 lines of text.
USE OF THE FUNDS THAT WE RAISE
We will be using the funds to help buy a 1-2 BBL pilot brewing system with fermenters and serving equipment, prep the space, and pay for any fees to get us up and running.
FOR FURTHER INFORMATION
Please take a look at our video. If you have any questions, check out our website: www.6DegreesBP.com or email us through the site.
If we reach our goal, which I have complete faith in you all that we will get there, we will:
- put up a mural in the reception area for you to sign when you come visit us. If you can't make it, we'll be happy to put your name on it for you. This special honor will be limited to those who pledge $100 or more.
Risks and challenges
As with any project, there are risks. This is an "All or Nothing" project, so we need your help. Please forward this website to others who may be interested in helping us get open faster and be able to give back to our community sooner. Once the project time has elapsed, I will put in the order for the rewards. These will be sent out as soon as I get them. The bricks will be displayed in the pilot brewhouse until we can install them in front of the full-scale establishment.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
