For the last 8 years, from our base in Tokyo, tarinainanika has been flying the flag for physical expression, building on the theatrical tradition of Corporeal Mime. Now we’re raising funds to share our approach on the other side of the world. Here's what we'll be doing:
We'll be performing our latest production, Tokyo Fugue, at The Cockpit in London (as part of the Camden Fringe Festival) and at the Croatian House of Culture in Rijeka (with our partners KRILA) - demonstrating the Universal Language of the Body on stage.
We'll be running an open workshop at The Cockpit in London, inspiring people to use their bodies more creatively, whether in the context of art, business or daily life. We're offering the workshop on a pay-what-you-can basis, to encourage people from all walks of life to join.
Thanks to our connection with the RSA, we'll also be visiting RSA Academies in the West Midlands, inspiring the next generation to get physical in their communication. We'll be performing Tokyo Fugue and giving a workshop at Whitley Academy in Coventry and giving workshops for students at Holyhead School in Birmingham. And we're running a movie project to connect students in the UK and Japan through the language of body and action.
Why this matters to the human race
How your pledge will be used

- production costs for performances in London, Coventry and Croatia including technicians’ fees and equipment hire
- studio rental for rehearsals and workshops
- cost of producing the Kickstarter rewards, including filming and editing by award-winning director Katsuyuki Miyabe

The RSA Connection
As a Fellow of the RSA, Tania sees this project as her contribution to the RSA's mission of "enriching society through ideas and actions". She also sees it as an extension of her work as RSA Connector in Japan, building creative connections between the UK and Japan.
The schools we are visiting in the West Midlands (Whitley Academy in Coventry, and Holyhead School in Birmingham) are members of the family of RSA Academies. Our connection with them is thanks to the RSA.
We hope that through this Kickstarter project, with the support of the RSA network, we can spark debate about the role of the body in modern society, and unleash expressive potential across the globe!

Risks and challenges
There is a risk that the timeline slips in producing the rewards. If it takes longer than expected to achieve the quality we want, we may need to push back the delivery date by a month or two. We will keep you updated throughout the production process and let you know if there's going to be a delay.
There's also the risk of injury or illness but this has never caused us to cancel or postpone a performance in the past...Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
