We are The Resonant Rogues, and we have a new collection of original songs influenced by Appalachian Old-Time & Country, vintage French swing, and Eastern European folk music. We want these tunes to keep you company, while cooking dinner, on your drives, in your room- anywhere that you like to listen to music. This collection of songs encompasses a wide range of emotions and experiences- from upbeat and fun, to introspective and melancholy- just like real life.
We are strong believers in the power and importance of community. Crowdfunding and pre-order campaigns are kinda like a modern version of an old fashioned barn raising. If you like our music and think that you’ll want to listen to the album, please support it- it can’t happen without lots of folks like yourself pitching in! There are many things in this world that deserve our financial support. We hope that music that inspires, uplifts, comforts, and drives you is one of those things. If you like us and what we are doing, invest in this project. We have put together a bunch of rad rewards, check them out and pick your favs.
Thank you so much for your support!
We started the Resonant Rogues in 2013, when we fell in love on a front porch in Asheville. Since then, this collaboration has taken us to places we’d only dreamed of- creatively and around the world. We’ve played in dozens of countries with dozens of phenomenal musicians, studied traditional music abroad and at home, and made our living as full time musicians along the way.
Since our last album, Hands in the Dirt, we have toured the US several times, including a stint in Alaska this past summer. We also toured all the way from Romania to the Netherlands to Scandinavia, sharing our music and gathering inspiration.
Autumn of the World is a new collection of all original songs, influenced by folk and swing from near and far. We have 10 tunes that we’ve been meticulously arranging and polishing, with a wide range of influences and emotions. We are in full pre-production mode, taking the time to dig into these songs and find their deepest potential. We are full time musicians, and have spent a lot of time with our instruments since we released Hands in the Dirt. We are excited to share how much we've grown as musicians and songwriters. We have a killer line-up, with Eric Heveron-Smith on upright bass, Kristen Harris and Daisy Castro on violin, and Mattick Frick on drums, plus a handful of special guests to round the sound out. We’ll be recording again at Echo Mountain, because it’s simply the best around. Plus, we feel at home there, which is important for making a natural feeling, high quality album.
We're not asking y'all to give something for nothing- this is an investment, a pre-order of music and merch that you'll enjoy over and over again. We have an array of rewards, for every budget and interest. Details are on the right side of the screen, but here's a little list of what we are offering-
Digital downloads, physical albums, t-shirts, vinyl, gift packs of music or beeswax candles, digital discography, autographed discography, handmade hardwood record racks with signed vinyl, private lessons (swing dancing, belly dancing, accordion, banjo, guitar, or band coaching), credit in album notes, and duo and full band private concerts.
Risks and challenges
Making an album is an incredibly detailed project with many steps and expenses. Luckily, we’ve done this before, so we now have a much more realistic understanding of what all this takes. We are certain that with your financial contributions, we will do a great job of making this album happen!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
