Everyone sees that Steven is a boy. What they can't see is the girl that follows him everywhere he goes, influencing his every decision and keeping him from inner peace. This girl represents half of Steven's brain, the half that he must fight every day to suppress, and the half that he must ultimately decide whether to coexist with or to kill.
Allergies is the story of Steven, a boy who is secretly transgender, but it is also the story of everyone--for everyone has felt a divide between what they feel and what they portray to the world. Our film shows a physical manifestation of this struggle, this division of character.
