Lucy -The eternity she wished for- is a Visual Novel, about a boy and an android. You play as the boy, who faces decisions and moral dilemmas in this near-future world. Depending on your choices, the life of this boy will lead in many different directions.
The game is a remake which was originally released back in 2010 in Korea, and highly praised for its great story. It has been redone for the international audience, with greatly improved graphics and streamlined storyline.
If any of you have doubts about how good this game is going to be, doubt no more. In the genre of visual novels, the quality of story-telling is very important for most gamers. Lack of story-telling in games often leads to a lot of dissatisfaction and makes many gamers feel like they’ve wasted their time in supporting it.
We know that everyone has different tastes and we can’t satisfy everyone, but there’s one thing we can say. This is a story that has touched many hearts and continues to have a strong impact on those who partake in this compelling journey.
We as a team believe that the most important aspect of a visual novel is not simply pretty drawings or a great story, but the combination of both, in harmony to create a memorable experience which will last long after the game is completed. With the experience we've gained and the many hours spent making the first game, we have been diligently working to refine and perfect the new 'Lucy'.
Multilingual - We want to get more people playing our game!
Our main goal is to get expand the audience of our game to include both English and Japanese speakers into the experience. We truly want to create a strong impression and great experience that we’ve successfully delivered to the gamers who played the old version Lucy to a whole new audience. In order to do that, we need professional translators who can accurately translate our video game. We can communicate in English without any problem, but we want to avoid our lack of English skills to ruin our game quality.
PC Version – We can’t completely drop the PC platform!
Even though we can’t change our direction because we’ve already started developing it in iOS, we are still aware of that PC is the best platform to increase our users. So even though we didn’t intend to aim for PCs, we are making it as a second goal.
There were a lot of portions of the game that we had to remove in order to meet our budget. I’m not going to lie. Some of the decision were very frustrating. If we get funded more than we expected, we are going to be doing a lot of things to make the quality way better! These are the things that we have planned before but dropped due to the lack of money. What would those be? You will see in stretch goal part!
Here's a breakdown of how we'll use the funds:
In order to complete the English version of the game, we require $6,000 for the various fees associated with this endeavour (A Translator, the Steam Greenlight Fees and App Store fees among other things).
Any money made above this goal would be to enhance our game even further.

If our team was invited to join the Steam Greenlight program, we would be able to push forward with a PC version of Lucy without waiting until we’d made it to our Stretch Goals on Kickstarter. It will be a challenge to complete the PC version within the time constraints, however, we are more than willing to tackle that small feat if it means becoming a part of the Steam family. Becoming part of the Steam Developer Community has been one of our ultimate long term goals ever since we began development on Lucy.

M-Vizlab (Modern Visual Arts Laboratory) is an indie game development team made in Korea. As a three men team, we already spent more than a hundred hours meeting, drawing, writing, coding, etc without seeing a single paycheck. I believe that tells you about how big our passion is.
