How We Stay Sane @ Work Volume 2
Final volume of the reader-fueled webcomic about bad jobs. 50 strips + guest comics!
New Contest: Become a Jobzombie
Hey Sane Seekers! We're getting down to the last week of the Kickstarter! And I'm holding another contest! All donors $25+ will be entered to be drawn as jobzombies on the desktop calendar reward! You'll be on the October page, 'natch. This is separate from the cover inks drawing, which was exclusive to the donors from the first 2 weeks. They're entered to win this too, but you can't win both things. I will pick 3 donors total to be drawn. Good luck!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Bad jobs: we've all had 'em. Envelope stuffing, box moving, burger slinging, toilet cleaning, and of course: customer verbal punching bag. Why not be recognized for your hard work? This was the idea behind How We Stay Sane @ Work: a weekly webcomic that launched in July 2013. It quickly became a communal project with stories submitted from all over the internet. Volume 1 was Kickstarted in 2015. Now it’s time to wrap it up with Volume 2!
Printed in a special long format like the newspaper-strip compilations you grew up with, it's sure to stand out on your bookshelf.
Volume 2 will be smaller than Volume 1 in terms of page count, but bigger in size! It will contain strips 101-150 with updated text and SFX for crisper, funnier gags! It will also contain all the guest comics funded by the stretch goals of the 1st Kickstarter!
Volume 2 Guest Artists:
You should check out all of their work, because it’s fantastic. All the guest artists have been paid for their work, but as a special thank-you for agreeing to include their strips in this book, they will each get 1 free copy for themselves!
Recognizing the little guys and supporting indie creators is great, but what about swag? I have plenty of stuff set up exclusively for this campaign such as:
- Thank You: Your name and company immortalized on a special page of the book reserved for donors
- Digital Sketches: Single character digital sketch of whomever you want! No nudity or offensive topics please
- PDF: Full-color PDFs of books 1 & 2, released as soon as the final print version is approved
- Button Set: A set of HWSS@W buttons featuring Coffee-chan and the “NO I don’t work here” design. Previously available only at comic conventions!
- Desktop Calendar: A 12-month paper calendar for 2018, the perfect size for your desk
- Custom Desk Plaque: Laser-cut aluminum desk plaque with your name and fantasy job title of choice
- Original Inks: A hand-drawn original strip from the comic! Excludes guest comics
Want to add a copy of HWSS@W Volume 1 to your rewards? How about another badge? Simply add the following amount to your pledge and send me a message with your reward preference. Shipping is included!
- Physical copy of Volume 1: $10
- Physical copy of Volume 2: $20
- Jobzombie Badge: $5
- Desk Plaque: $20
- Desktop Calendar: $7
You can also win the Cover Inks just by donating!
All pledges of $25 and above made before Wednesay 7/26/2017 are automatically entered!
THE RAFFLE HAS BEEN CLOSED. Winner will be chosen at random after the campaign is over.
A special thank you to Thomas W. For editing and narrating the video! And thanks to these people for providing free voice talent: CJ M, Noah G, Mario M, Brandon B, and Serephine R.
Risks and challenges
-This is my 2nd Kickstarter campaign. I have not invested any of my own money into this campaign, so I will be printing fewer books than last time. As with the 1st campaign, I budgeted in plenty of extra money just in case. See the budget breakdown above.
-All strips are drawn, and all that remains of the book is formatting work. The only reward that needs designing is the desktop calendar. I have been working successfully with weekly webcomics deadlines for years, and just switched to full-time freelancing, so I expect it to go quickly. But I am still a one-woman army.
-You can rest assured I will keep you informed of all stages of the production process, as well as any delays, with copious updates. Don't hesitate to ask questions via the comments and I'll answer them as quickly as I can!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
