This one's a hard maybe. If we do go spring for voice acting, it'll only be for quick bitcrunched barks (snrrk), like fighting game 'lines'. It really depends on the funding, and how smoothly development on the game goes.
We'd love to, but at this very second we can't promise anything- Game Maker Studio doesn't deploy to Nintendo products right now, and we haven't locked in a programmer (to port to another engine) yet because we don't know what kind of budget we'd be working with. So, (groan), this'll depend on the funding and how smoothly development goes, too.
We'd actually unironically love to, but we're also really finicky about the tone and aesthetic of the game and we don't think that we can control (even with explicit and legalese (which... we aren't big on in the first place, really)) buy-in character designs to the point that both the development team's vision and our buy-in backers are satisfied. We are still exploring other ways to engage fan and backer characters, so don't think the idea is off the table just yet!
Almost certainly, but only as a secondary or maybe even unlockable mode. Using a controller and actually playing the game like RE4 would be an objectively more difficult way to play the game and we're worried it'll turn off some players. That said, because it's an objectively more difficult way to play the game, we're excited to include it just to hear about the inevitable player wipeouts where someone caught the wrong end of an Itano Circus because they managed to miss the object they wanted to use and accidentally gave Casie a gun-shaped object instead of an actual gun.
