Seatswing is a handsfree toilet seat that allows you to put the toilet seat up and down without your hands to improve your restroom experience. Similar to a normal toilet seat, Seatswing has a cover and toilet seat. In addition, Seatswing has a mechanism to lift and lower the toilet seat with a simple touch on the front of the seat.
We believe that simple toilet seats can be more hygienic, easier and shouldn't be affecting our relationships.
Like everyone else you have learned to block your mind from the things that are done on your seat. You might not be able to see them (sometimes you can), but there are microscopic human feces on the top of every toilet seat and we need to touch that everyday. The average toilet seat carries around 200 bacteria per square inch. These human feces are not only dirty to touch, they are also bad for your health as the bacteria inside can cause diseases. Next time you need to move your toilet seat think about what you are touching..
The solution: Seatswing improves your hygiene and prevent you from feeling disgusted as you no longer have to touch the your toilet seat.
You have to bend over to pick the seat up or put it down which is slow and simply not relaxing. When we go to the restroom we enjoy a moment to ourselves. When you need to put the toilet seat up/down this somewhat interrupts this moment. Men like to keep standing and we invented the urinal because of this!
The solution: With Seatswing, men can now also keep standing at their normal toilet making the restroom more relaxing.
Couples can have discussions about the toilet seat being up. All men forget to put the seat down as it's human nature and cannot be prevented. Good luck explaining that to your lady! Now opening/closing the seat is handsfree with hardly any effort.
The solution: With Seatswing you can prevent this reoccurring discussion from happening and become a more hygienic couple together..
Not convinced yet? Other solutions: It's safer for a child as Seatswing closes gently. It's safer and better for elderly people as bending over can lead to back injury and they could slip when opening/closing the seat. Furthermore, a dirty restroom is among the top 5 reasons people do not return to a restaurant, etc.. Better get a family pack :)
Have a look at the front of the seat. There is a button which you need to touch to open and close the seat. When you touch the front, a clickingmechanism releases springs which will open the seat. If you touch it again, the seat moves back down. Both opening and closing is done without any effort. The seat is made from lightweight material which makes it easier to move the seat. This is the new way to go to the restroom!
It opens and closes much faster, it's cleaner and easier. From now on you're swinging!
Fits these shapes & more - It will even fit on a square toilet, but that will not look as well as it should. The flexible seat hinges make sure Seatswing fits on all normal toilets. These hinges need to be installed using holes on the top back of your toilet. Please have a look at our explanatory video below.
Universal size - There is a universal size for toilet seats which we have used to design Seatswing. Therefore, Seatswing has within the universal size toilet seats.
Seatswing is a simple & functional product. Similar to a popular trashcan it works on springs and a clickingmechanism.

The price for the Seatswing is fair and based on what it costs to make it at this stage. It is made of the best quality material on the market, is carefully designed and has a lot more functionality compared to normal toilet seats. Compared to the price range for normal toilet seats, Seatswing is on the middle to higher end. However, we are happy to give you a Kickstarter reduction during our campaign, so it will be affordable for our backers.
Vincent van Hoogdalem works as a mechanical engineer at an R&D departement of a Dutch firm and went to University in The Hague. Maarten Stokman has worked for Ernst & young as an auditor for 6,5 years and has worked in consumer products industry for 1,5 years.
In case we hit the goal of EUR 30.000 we have the financial capability to bring you different colors. We have chosen to add red and black. However, we are open to suggestions from our backers. If you would like another color or an image on the seat/cover, please let us know.
Bringing a product from an idea to reality is a long process which is showed in this timeline. We have had prototypes which did not look as good as Seatswing does now.
The Seatswing is made of Duroplast which is considered the best on the toilet seat market. It is strong, lightweight and has an antibacterial layer which kills bacteria and viruses on the surface of the seat.
We have carefully designed the Seatswing for 6 months. We made the best looking normal toilet seat and added the extra functionality to it. The extra part on the front is small and easily reached. We are very pleased with the endresult.
Riesgos y desafíos
We prepared a detailed business plan including a risk analysis in which we considered all risks relevant for the project including, but not limited to, manufacturing, shipping, exchange rate, tax and other risks. We have also prepared a sales forecast analysis in which we have considered all possible sales outcomes for the crowdfunding campaign.
What remains is raise enough funding so that we can give the factory the greenlight and begin production. With that said, there are always unforeseen events that can happen, especially when dealing with a factory that’s half a world away. We wouldn’t bring this to Kickstarter if we weren’t completely confident that we could get our project delivered to backers on schedule.
