First off, if you've arrived at this page and you'd like to buy tickets to this concert, or donate to it, but you're not sure about this whole Kickstarter thing, please send me a quick e-mail at email@example.com. I can help you!
Clem Snide is a terrific band based around singer/songwriter Eef Barzelay that incorporates elements from many different styles of music into their sound. Barzelay is one of today's most brilliant lyricists. Whether he's singing from the point of view of a character he invented, warbling a gorgeous love song, or telling irony-laced stories filled with clever wordplay and pop-culture references, he walks the fine line between poignancy and humor, often finding room for both within a single song. Clem Snide's most famous song is probably "Moment in the Sun," which was used as the opening theme for the TV series "Ed" in the early 2000s. Barzelay also plays poignant acoustic versions of, of all things, Christina Aguillera's "Beautiful" and Journey's "Faithfully." But it's his own original songwriting that has inspired us to bring him to Beckley, West Virginia for an intimate performance at School of Harmony, a beautiful arts center that, besides housing Coffee Beans & Books, also provides music lessons for people of all ages (and features a scholarship program for kids who want music lessons but can't afford them).
Check out some of Eef's and Clem Snide's songs on YouTube. Here are a few:

Then, please buy tickets to this intimate coffeehouse concert (or, if you're too far away to attend, please consider donating money) to help make it happen. We're a small town that rarely gets any nationally known artists, and we're trying to help make School Of Harmony a real destination for the arts. Imagine how cool it would be for you to play a part in making this happen!
The concert will be held at 8 pm on Friday, November 9 at Coffee Beans & Books in Beaver, West Virginia (just outside of Beckley). Doors open at 7:30, opening act The Heligoats will start at 8, followed by Eef Barzelay's performance. The address is 159 Granby Circle, Beaver, WV 25813 in the School of Harmony building. If you're coming in from out of town, I'll be happy to provide you with directions.
with thanks to Coffee Beans & Books and School of Harmony
Risks and challenges
The challenge will simply be to receive enough funding on Kickstarter to allow the concert to take place. To help accomplish this, I've partnered with local sponsors and with Eef Barzelay himself to establish a robust set of rewards for those who purchase tickets or who donate. I and my network of friends will be spreading the word via links to this campaign to as many people as possible, including existing fans of Eef Barzelay and Clem Snide, as well as general music fans in southern West Virginia. We will be holding a listening party in Beckley to introduce Eef/Snide's music to potential local attendees. And the coffeehouse that's hosting the concert will be promoting the campaign via its mailing list.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
