If we get to 6000.00 by Midnight on the 31st we will be providing our first stretch goal, the adventure source book . That means those who have backed to get all the new material will get FOUR books, and that will be at least 1,000 pages of text and maps, ideas and mechanics! But we don't think that would be enough for our awesome supporters. If we hit that goal by the end of July we will be doubling down. Sixty complete characters, Four sets of Vehicle deck plans and three additional adventures, specifically designed for RPG or Miniatures play.
That means folks who supported for as little as 40 dollars will get a total of SEVEN books as PDFs, and everything they will need to start a campaign! Sixty characters for use as patrons, companions, enemies or ready made PCs in a pinch. Four vehicles to take those characters across the Earth, through the sky above it, across the oceans or through the darkness of space. What more can a referee need?

Please help us fund the Second Edition of Stars of Empires, the Role Playing rules for the Hive, Queen and Country Victorian Science Fiction Universe. We plan three books, a 200-page Referee's Guide, a 150-page Player's Guide and a 250-page Ground Vehicle Sourcebook.
In 2016, a game publisher called Black Pigeon Press and I put out a Victorian Science Fiction Role Playing game titled Stars of Empire. We used their game engine and my Hive, Queen, and Country (HQC) setting. This fusion provided gamers with a tabletop experience where they could be challenged by the story and not by the rules. Unfortunately Black Pigeon Press closed its doors. Instead of letting the Hive, Queen and Country Universe just die I formed Aerolyth Enterprises LLC and began self publishing. With the help of a number of friends and a successful Kickstarter we've been able to produce a miniatures game and two source books. Now we would like to come full circle. With your help we will produce two core books, one for Referees and one for Players.
To support both Role Playing and Minaitures gaming we will also be producing the Land Fighting machines book for the HQC Universe, over 100 designs, 3D graphics, histories, orders of battle, tables of organization and equipment and color schemes! The book should run about 300 pages and will be out by June 2017. We have playtested at conventions across the country including Origins, Gencon, DragonCon, Diecon, Borderwars and Colonial Barracks.
Role Players and Miniatures Gamers will find this an extraordinary place to adventure, detailed and playable. We look to provide products that keep gamers interested in what's happening on the gaming table, not trying to find information in the game tables
How will the Second Edition be different?
The original edition was 8 by 10 inches and had 286 pages. The new edition will be two core books totaling 350 pages and be 8.5 by 11 inches The original was black and white one column per page while the new edition will be in full color with two columns (easing readability considerably). The new game engine is optimized for Victorian adventure and is highly streamlined to speed play and allow for more storytelling. A new and much simpler template for creatures and NPCs will be provided that allows a referee to easily manage them during game play. The extra page count will allow us to detail the cultures of this universe in greater depth.
A large amount of new material will assist referees in developing their own versions of the worlds we designed. We are including additional artists that will help players and referees visualize the characters, cultures and creatures with which they can interact. What will your money help us with? Your funds will help us purchase artwork and editorial services.
We are also looking to bring out the Ground Fighting Machines book in rapid succession. The designs for it are all nearly completed. It will contain pictures, designs, performance data, and background for over 85 ground vehicles. At least 20 of these will be available for purchase as 6mm or 15mm miniatures
How we are Different?
The Hive, Queen and Country Universe is a hard Science-Science Fiction setting. First published in 2010 the background has been researched and discussed for over a decade. The detailed Universe has been created by a community of Role Playing and Miniatures Gamers, historians, scientists, engineers, lawyers, rogues, vagabonds, and heroes, Hive, Queen and Country has unprecedented depth and scope, with the flexibility to allow you to set pretty much any sort of campaign your game master and players desire. We present a detailed and fully realized game universe: Steampunk with an emphasis on the Steam-not the punk!

First Edition of Stars of Empire: FOR WHOM THE GEAR TURNS
. . . if you enjoy d-20 games and are looking for a Steampunk world to immerse yourself in, I would definitely check out this title. There are tons of creatures, settings and characters available to create interesting scenarios and keep you engaged. The tone is realistic and the story has gravitas, so be prepared to assemble a group of serious gamers to play with.
First Stretch Goal
At 6,000 we will unlock The Explorer's Guide to the Solar System. This will be a 150 page volume with at least ten adventures, set on Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. Each adventure will highlight the unique features of the world or region in which it is set and will include detailed maps and other game aids.
Second Stretch Goal
This unlocks at 9000.00. In HQC Space Travel starts in 1870 with an Imperial Russian expedition to the Moon. Engineers, scientists, visionaries and politicians never look back from there. By 1880 Mars and Venus have been reached and stations orbit both worlds. In those five years more people from Earth have been in space than in the entire "Space Age" of Our Timeline. This book will devote at least 200 pages to the first fifty years of Victorian Space travel! Stations, to and from orbit craft, long haul cargo freighters and passenger liners will share the book with sections on the war-craft of the period, which become more and more important as a sinister arms race takes hold on Earth and Venus.
Third Stretch Goal
At 12,000.00 we will give you the keys to the International City! The International City on Venus is a key hub for exploration and exploitation on that world. What would a planned metropolis that is at the intersection of the City Beautiful movement and fortress designs of such brilliant engineers as Brailmont, Jervois and Sere de Riverieres look like on a world as alien and dangerous as Venus? This will be in the format of a period travel guide, such as Baedeker's. Maps and detailed descriptions of locations and events will be included.
Risks and challenges
This is our second attempt to Kickstart this project and the fourth, fifth and sixth books we are publishing at Aerolyth Enterprises. In our first Kickstarter we promised a 256 page full color book detailing Venus. We delivered a 309 page work, and with the exception of the signed book plates we delivered on time!
In the year since we ran this project we have worked on a lot of material we need to complete before these projects are ready. We have play tested at numerous conventions including Gencon. The basic outlines of both books are complete but we still need to format all the information, do continuity checks and produce a pair of products that are attractive and filled with usable information.
We have a number of artists that will work on this project, so we have every hope that if one should be unable to complete their work we will be able to find alternates.
The vehicle project has two authors, Terry Sofian and Arun Rodrigues. We have collaborated on a book already and work well together. Our skill sets overlap so we should be able to ensure completion of that item.
Single point failures exist with Arun and Terry. Arun is the lead person for the graphics and Terry is lead for the text and background. We do not anticipate any tremendous issues with that, both the first two projects are well along.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
