Hello friends of LUPO:
Over the past weeks we’ve been working our socks off getting all the LUPO units delivered to you while making the LUPO Android App run smoothly – and we’ve got there. Our Android blog received industry attention while the positive feedback from you is fantastic! It really keeps us going.
Some of you still have not received your LUPO. We also apologise there has not been an update till today. Production issues are one of those things - just when you thought the process and yield is stabilised there are new issues to deal with. The factory was unable to deliver the numbers that were needed – and it meant lending our supplier a hand by assembling hundreds on the ground with them. We have been working evening shifts and arranged with our warehouse to come in this weekend. We expect to have the final units of our Kickstarter rewards assembled by Monday. All your LUPO units will be dispatched by end of next week. Please allow time for the postal delivery service depending on your location.
Screen Lock: The LUPO Screen Lock app is on its way to completion on Windows 8.1 and we are now tweaking the UI/UX to give you the best possible experience. As for Mac users, we’re still working on making it fit with the Apple specifications, so we are looking for beta testers. You can be one of the first to try out LUPO Screen Lock (you need a Windows 8.1 PC with Bluetooth 4.0 technology) before it is released from beta by following this Dropbox link.
Customise your LUPO: As the sensor is such a great little thing to customise, we have been working on a high quality silicone bumper case, which will protect LUPO against impact, dust and dirt. This bumper will be available soon with us. Meanwhile, for all you arts and crafts/ DIY fans out there, take a look at how to build your own bumper.
Bluetooth & iOS 8: LUPO has hit some bumps in the road due to changes in iOS 8 Bluetooth, particularly with iPhones 6 and 6 Plus. We have not seen any of these issues with iOS 7 devices and we are working on making LUPO app as fast and solid on iOS 8. However ever since iOS 8 was released, most Bluetooth accessory devices are having trouble connecting with Apple devices. Have a look at this earlier Forbes article. We can recommend updating to iOS 8.1.1 as it works better but unfortunately it is still not clear if the iOS Bluetooth issues have been fully fixed. Also, take a look at this recent Forbes article: http://www.forbes.com/sites/ewanspence/2014/11/21/apple-news-digest-bugs-io8-usb-lightning-free-apps/. The good news is that Apple is already aware of the issues and sooner or later all iOS Bluetooth problems will be fixed. Please hang on in there as we all wait for Apple to make an update.
We made a detailed FAQ page and troubleshooting guide and please, plz… download the correct app. The app name is: ‘Lupo Find Secure & Control’ as discussed in our previous update.
LUPO SDK: The SDK pack containing LUPO iOS SDK and LUPO Android SDK has been emailed to all our SDK backers earlier today. Most of your LUPO is also on it’s way. We are absolutely 100% here to help and support your smart ideas on LUPO hardware. We can’t wait to see what cool apps you would be building with LUPO.
We wish you a great weekend ahead.
