About this project
Love @ First Bite Desserts opened its doors more than 2 years ago and we could not be happier with the outcome! We are one of the few bake shops that still makes everything from scratch and bakes fresh everyday. Our little business just keeps growing, and our current location is just too small for us.
We have over $20,000 dollars in equipment that is sitting in storage instead of being used, because we don't have the room or electrical power for it in our current location.
We would like our shop to be a place where customers can get our delicious desserts and coffees and also a comfortable place where family and friends can gather together, and have a great time. We would be so honored to be part of their special moments.
Creating, baking, and decorating our desserts, brings so much joy to our lives, and we would like to share that joy with others. Our dream is to have a place big enough to house all of our already purchased equipment and extra seating and also room for cake and cookie decorating classes, birthday parties, and small gatherings. Our current location is just not suitable for all the things we want to do. We have had to turn customers away and refuse so many orders because, the size of our facility only allows us to take a certain amount of orders everyday.
So, is time for us to move to a bigger and better location. And we are so happy to have found a space that fits our needs. Our new location will allow us to cater to larger events and take larger orders. Our main goal is to satisfy our customers needs. We value each and every customer and we want to make sure that we take good care of them.
Before we move, we have to put in a kitchen and a retail space. We are so excited about our new home and can not wait to make the change! Our new location will allow us to be open longer hours, that means we will open earlier and close later than we do at our current location. And that means more jobs in our community. We want to move quickly so that we don't interrupt our bakery's production and hope to have a smooth transition. That is why we are launching this Kickstarter project!
We have improvements and upgrades that need to be done to this location before we can call it home. The main project is the purchase and installation of a type 2 hood (this is a city building requirement, if you have more than one oven). We will need plumbing and electrical upgrades, new floors, and lighting. We don't want to bored you with all the details, but we will keep you posted on all the changes. We want to make you a part of this project and share our excitement with you!
We would be so honored and blessed to have your pledge. It will not only help our business grow, but it will also bring more jobs to our community. We care about our community, and are very happy to say that we have sponsored many non-profit events and have donated to many of our community schools and plan to continue to do so. The Spokane Valley is our home and we want to be involved in our community.
Our shop is like our child and we would like to see it grow and become the best that it can be. Please be back our project and help our shop continue to grow. Thank you so much for your time!
Risks and challenges
One of the most difficult things for me so far, has been, to let people know about our kickstarter project, and to ask for their help. I am one of the first to stand in line to help others, but, when it comes to asking for help or letting others help me, Well that, I'm not so good at. I know that in order for our project to be successful I have to let people now about it, so I'm trying to let go and let others help. We would like to successfully completed this project in 30 days after, we receive the fundings. We need to get city permits and other licenses. And we hope everything goes smoothly. We are an up and running business, We are currently leasing a space on a month to month basics. We would like to make the move as soon as possible, but if it takes more time we will just stay at our current location a bit longer. We are determined to make this project happen. And we will not stop until is completed. We have lots of family and friends willing to help us with the labor. So we have that going for us. I have already started making plans on how we are going to make it work. And where there is a will there is a way.
