Hi Lenot.. I sent you a personal message... about to send a backer only update with an exclusive Take Away Show from Africa that will be up for a limited amount of time. We're picture locking this week and then sending it off to Paris for color correction and sound and then out into the world! Check the updates later today. Thanks everyone for your patience. So excited to get this film out to the world. Cheers.
I would like a refund please. It's been ages.
Hi Team.. I emailed some of you directly, but I just posted an update. We're all set and prepping to film at the end of winter. Thanks for your patience. Excited to be moving forward once again. Cheers.
Sigh… any update at all?
I think it might slowly be time for an update..... or else I'll ask for my money back as well, with much sadness and disappointment.
I got my money back. Thanks!
I just emailed you my phone number and email so that we can get you taken care of. Massive apologies for the delay... I just want to encourage everyone else that we're looking into Fall dates and with all the positive momentum lately, we will get this underway soon! Cheers.
I'd like my money back, please.
Hi Jared (and Friends)...
Yes, we are long over due for an update.. apologies.
The stars had all aligned when we first started the project and we locked in dates relatively easily considering the bands' busy schedules. Since the tragedy that struck a few months before we were set to leave it's been a bit more difficult to align schedules. Hopefully you saw the post about Lykke Li's schedule conflicting (http://takeawayfilmuganda.com/post/7773527130/were-on-the-move) so the biggest dilemma has been seeking out the 3rd artist again.
"We’ve been on the hunt for a 3rd artist to fill those petite Swedish dancing shoes and we’re close! Our criteria for the artists on this trip (amazing musicians, pure hearts, adventurous spirits, clear visions, etc) is extremely particular and we want to do this film and this situation justice. We’re in talks with some artists that we’re really excited about and know you will be too."
We've been close to locking someone in a handful of times, but want to make sure the artist is the right artist because filming in Uganda is a very specific and sensitive project. Chryde just emailed yesterday with a group he's excited about and that's interested so hopefully they'll work out and we'll have another update soon.
Please don't hesitate to email us anytime with thoughts, concerns or ideas (email@example.com). We're extremely grateful for all of this Kickstarter teams' support and are going to make the best film possible. It's going to be great because we've really earned this one.
Can we get another update? We're a couple weeks away from 2 years of waiting...
I'll have more of an update soon, but currently we're looking into all of the bands' schedules to get a time when we can get back out there. Since we had to reschedule due to the World Cup bombing, we haven't found 10 days that all bands can participate that also correlate with a time where IC Ugandan staff are available. We're shooting for this upcoming Fall. More soon!
it has been almost half year since the last one.

Hi Henrik.. We're finishing up the rest of the fundraising and then we'll head out this Fall, film the documentary, and are looking to have something available for the holiday season this year. Thanks again for all the support!
So, what happens next?
What an awesome week.
YAAAY!! We're so pumped too!! Bridget... you're amazing. hahah

Help the children, please.
Thank you all for not only imagining a better world, but for actively pursuing one through living a sort of positive protest. Here is a compelling passage from a speech JK Rowling gave as Harvard University's commencement speech a few years ago -
"Your intelligence, your capacity for hard work, the education you have earned and received, give you unique status, and unique responsibilities. Even your nationality sets you apart. The great majority of you belong to the world’s only remaining superpower. The way you vote, the way you live, the way you protest, the pressure you bring to bear on your government, has an impact way beyond your borders. That is your privilege, and your burden.
If you choose to use your status and influence to raise your voice on behalf of those who have no voice; if you choose to identify not only with the powerful, but with the powerless; if you retain the ability to imagine yourself into the lives of those who do not have your advantages, then it will not only be your proud families who celebrate your existence, but thousands and millions of people whose reality you have helped change. We do not need magic to change the world, we carry all the power we need inside ourselves already: we have the power to imagine better."
"Choosing to live in narrow spaces leads to a form of mental agoraphobia, and that brings its own terrors. I think the willfully unimaginative see more monsters. They are often more afraid. What is more, those who choose not to empathise enable real monsters. For without ever committing an act of outright evil ourselves, we collude with it, through our own apathy."
I think you should include something like a letter from an inspirational child in Uganda. Or maybe even set up a Skype meeting for the 100 or 500 dollar donations. I am looking to donate as soon as I have the money. (Broke College film Student.) But I am a huge fan of La Blogotheque, longtime subscriber, and am a huge believer in this cause.
I love the Patrick Watson Take Away Show! Unbelievable you people are.
Thanks Julia and Koji!
Oh my stars, I love La Blogotheque and the Polyphonic Spree. I want to support IC!
This is really incredible. I've been a huge fan of Blogotheque for sometime now and been involved with IC since 2005 East Coast tour. It's really great to see this collaboration! Can't wait to watch the finished film. Cheers!
