About this project
The Tahquitz Pack, named after the birthplace of present day climbing, is built for those who aim to explore.
Highly functional and modern in design we've created a versatile pack that conforms to your lifestyle—whether heading to the crag, traveling the globe, or dawn patrolling a surf session, we’ve got you and your belongings covered.
Endless Possibilities for Packing
Our internal pouch, capable of fitting a 15" laptop, doubles as a hydration sleeve. With hose ports on both left and right shoulders you will be ready for anything that comes your way.
Hideaway Hip Straps
A necessity for any hike on the trail but in the way if you’re headed to the office. Deploy them on the trail or tuck them away on the concrete. They're designed to meet your environment.
Hidden Water Bottle Pocket
Water bottle pockets can look sloppy, that’s why we’ve hidden ours with a simple zip. Bring whatever bottle you need (our stretch mesh fits most bottle sizes). Unzip, pack, and be on your way.
Our suspended shoulder strap system keeps the pack close to your body while alleviating weight points so you can spend less time stressing and more time exploring.
The Cabrillo Dry Bag plays an integral role to the Tahquitz Pack, integrating seamlessly into the side pocket.
Camera Case meets Dry Bag. The Cabrillo Dry Bag, like Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, is meant for exploring in places where the presence of water is absolute but the need for a camera is mandatory. In addition to being 100% waterproof, our molded foam insert will keep your camera and accessories protected from any element, bang, drop or tumble they might find.
We are a group of individuals who choose to live rather than to exist. We are not professional athletes. Nor are we fashionistas, globetrotting from one beautiful destination to the next. We are regular people who go into the world with open eyes and a full hearts and we know we are not alone. This is why we created BE—to share, advocate and encourage the world to embrace the outdoors through thoughtfully designed products.
Thanks for your support!

Risks and challenges
Throughout BE’s first Kickstarter we’ve worked diligently to ensure that our backers are pleasantly stoked with the quality and the timeliness of their reward.
From the start we’ve committed to quality assurance through vigorous testing so that your adventures only stop when you do. We spent a month traveling around New Zealand dialing in essential features. We’ve carried our pack on rock faces and through backcountry slopes to examine its performance on rock and snow. We even passed on our first sample to help a friend who’s biked from Nicaragua to Patagonia and it’s held up on every turn of the journey. We’ve worked to create a product that we’re proud of and we thoroughly believe that it will deliver an easier approach to travel and the outdoors for our backers.
With our manufacturer, we’ve planned a conservative timetable and necessary precautionary measures that we are confident will allow our packs to be delivered by their fulfillment date.
But as always, with the supply chain, there is inherent risk of delays. While we’ve tried to account for all foreseeable hiccups as there’s always the possibility that a shipping container gets stuck in the middle of nowhere, or natural disaster occurs that slows down the process.
We also have a good understanding of the fulfillment process and what makes things run smoothly when we start shipping your orders. We’re confident in the tools and processes we have prepared to ship out your BE gear. As with anything, shit happens and if it does, we will keep you informed 100% while we work through it!
Thank you for supporting our project and with your help and understanding, we hope to bring you some awesome gear to help you explore the world. #carryforthLearn about accountability on Kickstarter
