Haha! Overwhelming Success!!
As of right now, I am at almost 200% of my goal with a little less than 2 weeks left in the campaign. This is all thanks to you. From the people who donated a dollar just to show solidarity to the people who went in for the highest levels of funding, I am blown away by your generosity and enthusiasm. Thank you so much! Please keep posting this to your friends and social networks. Even though I've reached my goal, I still want as many people as possible to know about this project.
What have I been up to, you say? Well, I'm happy you asked. I recently completed a short stint as artist-in-residence at Evil Prints in St. Louis where I made two brand new prints that are directly related to the graphic novel, and are now being offered as new rewards.
The first is called Floating Head Bounty Killer and is a cross-sectional image diagramming the funky and bizarre internal physiology of the eponymous character of the first chapter. It has a screenprinted element detailing his anatomy from the Pukeflap to the Business End.
The second is called Behold The Mighty Yeti Overlords! Tremble before the awesome might of a Yeti High Priest as he delivers unto you the terrible commandments of his jealous and bloodthirsty gods. The mysterious Yeti will be playing a prominent role in The Astronomer, and here is the first glimpse of this bold race of ancient giants.
Both these prints were executed and printed entirely by hand. They are copperplate etchings printed on Japanese Kozo paper, mounted on cotton rag support papers (see the individual rewards for more details). Both are being offered at an exclusive kickstarter discount price that will last until the close of the campaign.
A quick request- if you are a non-U.S. backer, please doublecheck your pledge amount and make sure you've added the extra shipping cost that appear at the end of the reward description. Additionally, there is a typo in the $250 level reward. It should read (Canada $260, International $275). Sorry for any confusion.
Once again, if you're reading this, I can't thank you enough for your support, even if you're just looking and forwarding the link on to your friends. Take care, and as always, don't hesitate to email me with any questions.
