Trying a decent button-up shirt that fits well can be the absolute worst.
You've probably tried on a women's cut shirt with its weird cap sleeves, awkward bust darts, and a sizing chart that might as well be for children. You then tried the men's department and found that you have to be the shape of a box or settle for gapping in the chest. Some of you have even found yourself in the little boys' section pretending to shop for your nephew. So we have designed a shirt that is more inclusive.
We know how frustrating this can be so we are here to make you a button-up shirt that fits.
Our product is for anyone that has trouble finding a button-up shirt that fits well. We are making sizes ranging from XS to 4XL. We have designed these shirts to fit as true to size as possible. We have also added buttons to reduce gaps in the chest and waist. Our long-term goals are to add more body styles such as tall, etc. and offer custom tailoring. We want to be more than just a clothing company. We want to see change happen in the world and therefore we are giving back 10% of the profits from our first run of shirts to LGBTQ+ organizations. We are happy to announce that our first give back will be to OUTMemphis! We will help them raise funds for the senior citizen programming.
We care about how our clothes are made. We've been working with small businesses to make these button-ups a reality. They are being produced right here in the United States so you can sleep well knowing your shirt was ethically made. Our manufacturer is based out of Chicago, IL. We couldn't have done this without our amazing patternmaker who is also based out of Chicago, IL.
We want you to have a shirt that fits. We will collect your sizes and shirt colors after the campaign but go ahead and take a look at our sizing chart to determine what size you'll be. We have tried to make this as true to size as possible. We highly recommend measuring your body because it will help you with all of your online shopping needs.
If you have questions about what your size is we have an instant chat on our website at www.thebuttonbrigade.com or shoot us an email. We would love to help you!
Again, please chat up on our website if you have any questions or if you're feeling overwhelmed by numbers. We know online shopping can be stressful so we want to make this as easy as possible!
Risks and challenges
There is a risk to starting any business, but thankfully we have already put in a ton of hard work and completed our biggest hurdles. We have been working with an amazing patternmaker and small-batch manufacturer. We have created the samples and have tested them out. We just need the funds to put in the order.
There are so many shifting pieces when it comes to launching a business, and we want to inform you that we have changed the location of our manufacturer since recording our video. They will be produced in Chicago, IL. We have a lot of partners in Chicago and felt this was the best option logistically.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
