About this project
In August 2012 John & Marie Barnett, Ryan Delmore, David Linhart & Band will be doing a weekend of worship and training in the New York/New Jersey area. The final night we will be playing at a church service that a friend of mine holds on Sunday night in beautiful Brooklyn, NYC at a place called the "Trash Bar". That's right, "Trash Bar".
As is often the case, I don't always use my best judgement. So when I thought to myself, "this would be a great place to record & video something that takes place outside the box of the usual live recording", I began to really look into what it would take to pull something of this off. All the pieces were falling into place, musicians, songs, recording gear, flights, housing, car rental, video team and a minimal amount of food to keep the band alive.
All was well until I started adding up all the costs! Knowing how to make records is a lot different than knowing how to finance them!
In the end, I decided to try "kickstarter" and see if there was anyone besides myself who thought that documenting something like this is worth supporting. As far as I know, it will be the first "worship recording" done in a bar and although it may seem like a novelty, it is more than that. It's taking His kingdom into the world. It's taking light into darkness. That much I know.
The Trash Bar is charging us $25 to record. Such a deal! The rest will come from those of you who come to believe in this project and are willing to support it. I've tried to come up with some great "rewards" just short of giving away my mule, so take a look and help support the documentation of this great event!
