Toronto Comics: Volume 3 is 300 pages of all-new comics starring Hogtown, brought to you by 47 local creators! This 6"x 9" softcover is jammed with 30 B+W stories from experienced indie veterans, as well as talented newcomers being published for the first time.
From post-apocalyptic Massey Mutant gangs to the unsettled ghosts of the Keg Mansion, from flirty skyscrapers to condo supervillains, this anthology is a love letter to the city of Toronto. With a foreword by Ryan North (Dinosaur Comics, Unbeatable Squirrel Girl), this is our most ambitious work yet!
We have a table booked at the Toronto Comics Art Festival this May, and we need your help to launch the anthology there! All the artwork is ready to go, but now we need your support to help cover our print and creator costs.
We successfully ran a Kickstarter last year for Volume 2, and we were 1500% funded. We started very small, with writers pooling pocket money to cover print cost and artists donating their time, but thanks to your generosity with Volume 2's Kickstarter, we're now able to offer a page rate to our creators!
Where your money goes:
Our biggest cost is our creative team, who receive a flat page rate and a percentage of kickstarter profits.
We're printing through Marquis Books in Quebec; we've used them before, and they've always delivered a quality product with good turnaround.
We've opted to have fewer stretch goals this year so we can better support our creators! A percentage of Kickstarter profits will be shared amongst the artists and writers who worked hard to bring you this fantastic book.
All digital rewards will be upgraded with PDF copies of Volumes 1 and 2! All physical rewards will ship with links to the PDFS.
ALL physical rewards will include a set of six coloured 1" pins featuring Volume 3 characters!
ALL physical rewards will include stickers featuring the button characters! Decorate your world with your favourite characters!
Dodge shipping costs with TCAF pickup
We can have your Volume 3 waiting for you at our table if you select the 'TCAF PICKUP - NO SHIPPING!' pledge. Want additional rewards? Just increment the pledge to the level you want, and send us a message with your order!

What they're saying:
“Toronto has always felt like not just *a* home of Canadian comics, but *the* home: there's so much talent here, old AND new, so many people doing interesting things with the medium, and so many events like the Toronto Comics Arts Festival that - LIKE TORONTO ITSELF - are legitimately world-class."
- Ryan North, The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl
“More than just a CN Tower postcard, the series benefits from its gleefully geeky celebration of Toronto.”
- NOW Toronto
“This pulpy publication is a who’s who of young comic talent in the country, bursting with eye-grabbing images and witty lines.”
- London Free Press
“This anthology series has seized on Toronto’s place as a hub in the comic book world and showcases some of the next superstar artists that will surely break through as those before them have.”
“The talent in Toronto is incredible, and this collection goes a long way to highlight the depth, ability, and diversity of emerging comic book storytellers in this city. Watch these names - if you don’t know them yet, you will soon!”
-Hope Nicholson, Bedside Press
“If you’re from Toronto, and you enjoy comics, than you have no excuse. This book was created LITERALLY for you. What else are you going to read on the Queen Streetcar?”
-Ty Templeton, Comicbook Bootcamp

Risks and challenges
We've released two great volumes before, and you can find them in comic book stores across TO. Last year was our first Kickstarter, and we successfully delivered a great book to all our backers. We had a minor hiccup that resulted in a month-long delay on shipping some orders, but we've streamlined our process to prevent that this time!
Our artwork is in, proofs are ordered, our TCAF table is confirmed, and we've got our ducks in order. We've learned from past challenges, and printing Volume 3 should be a stress-free experience.
Barring accident or injury, the book will be launched on May 14th at TCAF 2016, and Kickstarter rewards will begin shipping shortly afterwards.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
