You don't have to have an Android device to connect with and acquire data from the AirBeam. You can connect to the AirBeam using a serial monitor (like the one that comes with the freely available Arduino software) via either Bluetooth or the micro-USB port. However, it should be noted that without the AirCasting Android app you won't be able to easily visualize your data using the AirCasting app maps and graphs or contribute your data to the AirCasting.org crowdmap.
