My name is Todd Alsup and I’m an independent singer/songwriter living in New York City. And it's time for me to make a new album.
After the successful release of my last album "Todd Alsup," many lifelong dreams came true for me. I won an OutMusic award for pop song of the year, I played my songs with a symphony orchestra in L.A. and I had the opportunity to perform my music all over the world. In the last 4 years I've lived a little, grown a bit of facial hair, had some incredible highs, and weathered a few lows. All the while I've continued to write and tour and all of that real life experience has been funneled into my songwriting. Now I’m very excited to share a new collection of songs that speak honestly to my encounters with love, heartbreak, sex and more.
For the last 4 years I’ve had the great opportunity to travel to Europe, regularly playing on tour with some incredible musicians. Along the way, I met Orlando Ribar, one of the best drummers in the world who also happens to be a phenomenal producer. Orlando and I started to talk about working together on producing my next project and found that we have a shared vision for what my new album ought to sound like. We have already begun work on new tracks that mix traditional soul with modern R&B and pop sounds. In April I’ll fly to Switzerland to record vocals for the first batch of new tracks. The wheels are already in motion!
Because I’m an independent artst, my projects are purely self-funded. Making an album is expensive and I need your help to cover the costs of recording these songs. Your pledge to this project will go towards production costs including producer fees, studio time and hiring musicians. In exchange for your hard earned money, I have some great incentives to offer. Check them out and don't miss out!
PLEASE share this link with your friends and encourage them to take advantage of the great incentives they'll receive from making a pledge!
I'm deeply grateful for the support of my friends and fans throughout the years and look forward to sharing every step of this next chapter with each of you.
Risks and challenges
Kickstarter is all or nothing, so I can only complete this project if we reach the set goal of $8,500. I believe 100% that we can do this together! Your pledge however big or small makes all the difference.
Recording an album takes time, and my desire is to have the album recorded by the end of 2015. Sometimes these things end up taking a little longer. But Orlando and I are committed to seeing this project through - we can't wait for people to hear the work.
Everyone who donates to this project will receive - in addition to their initial incentives - a digital download of the final product once it's completely mixed and mastered. And I will be posting on social media routinely about the progress of the project, so you'll always know where we're at in the process.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
