How would you feel if one day you realized that the choice your parent made would affect everything about your life? Your child’s life. Your spouse. Your ability to make a living. What would you do?
This story is about Craig McCullough, a lifelong politician, who crosses over from the politics of compromise to unabashed corruption. The result? Everyone pays. The genesis of MCCULLOUGH is on topics we feel deserve more public discussion: political and financial corruption, ethics in government, and safeguarding an honest culture. It's about how one choice affects so many people ... down to the fabric of American life.
We’ve seen how crowd funding allows artists to involve everyone in the filmmaking and storytelling process. And we can’t wait to bring you into MCCULLOUGH’s world.
We are raising $25,000. If we raise more than $25,000, then we will utilize the funds for post-production like sound design and color work.
Filmmaking isn’t cheap. We need to buy hard drives, rent cameras, hire safety officers for location shooting, pay location costs … it all adds up quickly. But the end result is worth it. You’re going to see every dollar up there on screen. Thank you for helping us to realize the vision of our film!

We need the funds to finish up our pre-production, the actual filming, and post-production.
1. Pre-Production and Filming: November - January 2014. While there’s been a lot of planning already on a sweat equity basis, including initial production design, a knock-‘m-dead script, a tight shooting schedule, a detailed budget, primary main and concept art, and location scouting and holds – actual MCCULLOUGH pre-production starts the first week in November.
The funds for pre-production and shooting allow us to pay for film insurance and permits, location fees, materials, camera and lighting equipment, and the cast and crew (most of whom are working for free or at a very low indie rate to support the project). Our group of filmmakers are intent on making this look fantastic!
The film is scheduled to be shot on location in Los Angeles December 2013 - January 2014.
2. Post-Production: January 2014. This campaign is also looking to fund our editing, original score, color correction, post sound, and titles. The more money we get over our funding target, the more we can do in post.
Again, it’s a labor of love to do indie filmwork, and it’s made possible by your donation to MCCULLOUGH.
Risks and challenges
We’re looking to fund this campaign so we can deliver the film by early 2014. Because our film is shot on location, there may be some adjustments to our shoot schedule because of weather. And our actors' and above-the-line team schedules may cause a few adjustments. There is also the possibility for additional color correction and post production after this funding. But it is our intent to raise enough money with this campaign to try to cover all the anticipated costs, and we have a professional budget to help us do just that.
