Hi, Bill III here. Welcome to my Kickstarter, and thank you so much for helping me make my dream come true.
I'm lucky enough to be part of a tradition of drum builders that goes back over 100 years. Grandfather started his company WFL Drum Company over in his early 60's and worked in the factory every day until he was 93! I turned 60 on October 12th, and I want to follow in his steps and make my forefathers proud.
This is what I have done since 3rd grade. My first official job with the company was to open mail and stamp it with date stamps. I have played drums since age 6 and still play and practice regularly.
WFLIII Drums has been in existence for a while, but I want to take WFLIII Drums to the next level and get my beautiful, high-quality drums out to the world.
With WFL III Drums, you'll be able to add a beautiful, great-sounding US-made snare drum to your collection. WFLIII Drums are heirloom-quality instruments that can be passed down for generations. Hear for yourself:
Right now, I need your help raising the funds to begin our first round of scaling up manufacturing. The funds raised by this campaign will be used to purchase materials, pay for tooling costs, and begin manufacturing our first big run of drums. Any additional funds will be used to purchase inventory for WFLIII Drums to use moving forward. I'll be able to provide interested dealers and distributors with our drums on consignment.
What's your schedule post-Kickstarter?
Once the campaign is complete, this will be the timeline:
- November 12: Raw materials order placed and manufacturing begins with cutting and forming.
- February 1 (hopefully earlier!): First shipments begin at fulfillment center.
Risks and challenges
We have done our best to mitigate the risks and challenges for this project.
While timelines are often a concern for Kickstarter projects, we are confident that we have carefully prepared for any potential delays. We have laid out a realistic manufacturing timeline (see the schedule above) and included extra time to allow for issues that may arise along the way.
We have taken a couple of strategic actions to ensure that we will meet our timeline. We chose manufacturing and fulfillment partners based locally in Illinois. Their close proximity to our office will make it easier to oversee production, ensuring quality and on-time fulfillment. The teams we have chosen to partner with are experienced and reliable. They have handled a variety of large projects and have committed to making sure that we meet our targeted fulfillment date. Our manufacturing and fulfillment partners are on standby.
Most importantly, we are committed to open communication. Our backers will be the first to know if anything comes along that may affect this timeline. Our team is committed to being honest and transparent should any problems or delays occur along the way. We are fully prepared to make sure this project happens in the stated timeline. We're all in this together! Thank you again!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
