I Am Hexed issue #1 is a 24 page, full color, original comic written by me, Kirsten Thompson. This is the first issue of a fully written four part mini-series. With your help we can go full speed ahead to commission art production and make issue #1 a reality!
Thanks for checking out my Kickstarter and Joining the Movement!
I Am Hexed is a supernatural political thriller. There’s magic, mystery, personal drama and an accidental carnivorous plant.
Witches have been a part of the political fabric of Washington D.C. since it was founded. It’s only since the 1960s that witches stood together and fought to take back the word “Hexed”. A movement was ignited when witches came out of the shadows and proudly showed off their broomsticks. Now with the struggle for equality ongoing, Charlotte Helm, a junior staff member for Senator Royce, has been thrust into the murky and dangerous waters of political games between witches and their adversaries.
Charlotte is now D.C.’s Most Wanted Witch on the run. With her boss under suspicion for political corruption, Charlotte, her ex-girlfriend and whatever other help she can find, scramble to keep one step ahead of the political and magical forces hunting her.

I am also a staff writer at ComicsMNT, and have contributed to Teen Vogue, Femsplain, Women Write About Comics, Talking About Comics and various other sites.

Taylor is a comic book lettering professional and owner of Ghost Glyph Studios. As a staff letterer at DC, he lettered titles such as Red Hood and The Outlaws, Constantine, Bodies, CMYK, and New Suicide Squad. Prior to this, Taylor was credited on numerous titles for Marvel as a production artist. He is currently working on a new batch of creator-owned titles, such as Interceptor: Reactor and Cult Classic: Return to Whisper (Vault Comics), Atomahawk, Dark Fang (Image), and Babyteeth (Aftershock).
Jenn St-Onge (aka “Princess Jem”) is the tatted Canadian cat mommy/comic artist behind IDW’s Jem & The Misfits, Image’s Bingo Love, and Dynamite’s upcoming Nancy Drew, along with a selection of cover work with companies such as Archie Comics, BOOM! Studios, Valiant Entertainment, and Oni Press. She loves coffee, Bioshock, and anything spoopy; she is definitely not several cats stacked in a trench coat (probably).
Natasha Alterici is a writer and artist living in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She got her big break with the hit queer Viking fantasy Heathen, for which she acted as both writer and artist. Since then she's contributed her writing, interiors and cover art to projects such as Dinosaur Project, Gotham Academy: Yearbook, Grayson Annual, The Lez Film Review, Mixed Signals, Lovers and Other Strangers, Transcience, Assassin's Creed, My Friend Death, Jade Street Protection Services, and more. When not working on comics, she enjoys playing video games and cooking with her fiancé and their two cats, Cheshire and Louise.
Yoshi Yoshitani has always been inspired by cultures, histories, mythologies, and patterns from around the world. She uses this inspiration to fuel her concepts and illustrations.
Risks and challenges
The production and project management of this title is “in-house” and comfortably in my control, eliminating many variables that could cause delays. That being said, some of the things that rely on external production (The manufacture of rewards, logistics of packing & shipping individual rewards) may cause some delays.
Depending on the print quantity, we may choose to print our books in Canada or overseas. If so, there could be problems such as our books being held in customs, and longer shipping times.
I have spent the past eight months planning and refining this project. I have accounted for these potential problems and worked them into our schedule.
Everyone will be updated every step of the way, throughout the entire production process. Of course, we will notify you of any setbacks that may arise.
