Personal stories of the life-changing effects of a free camp for kids with physical disabilities and their teen counselors.
I am raising funds to finish a project to share personal stories in a 1-hour documentary to be distributed to PBS stations for a June 2013 airdate leading into the summer months of activities. This documentary will give voice to people who would like their story told. It is about a magical camp that they attended for free or volunteered at as a teenager or adult. This camp changed their life so profoundly it became the highlight of their year for many years and helped them choose a direction to pursue in life.
I produced the short video as a fundraiser for the camp which needs to collect donations in order to continue making it a free opportunity for children with disabilities. It gives a sense of what this camp means to many people.
The funding for, "Casey Stories" will make it possible to dedicate the next few months to finishing the documentary with archive footage from 1987, 2002 and 2010 and include current day interviews with Camp Casey current and alumni participants. It will allow me to purchase music and graphics for the documentary and set aside distribution costs to make it available to PBS stations this coming spring.
My production company, Sunny Wonder Media, has a facebook fan page, you tube channel and website www.sunnywondermedia.com with video segments and a blog www.sunnywonder.wordpress.com . I will update progress on this fundraising effort on these pages.
