About this project

3 PLAYS - 10 DAYS

HELP US USHER IN THE NEXT WAVE OF GREAT AMERICAN THEATRE!

DONATE TODAY AND HELP US PAY FOR OUR ARTIST STIPENDS!

WHY?

BECAUSE ARTISTS DESERVE TO BE PAID FOR THEIR HARDWORK TOO!!!

Terra Firma will be heading up to the Catskills for a ten-day workshop on the estate at Cole Hill Farm; generously donated by Nancy Hechinger. During this time and with exclusive permission from The Bergman Foundation, Cries and Whispers will have its first full length staging. Not only that, Fay Simpson will work with the entire artistic team for the first two days, using the Lucid Body technique. During this time, Cobey Mandarino and Jason Fleitz will continue work on a parallel project, the score and script of Mandarino's adaptation of The Stranger. Playwright Christopher Oscar Pena will also begin work on a new jazz musical set within the walls of a New Orleans brothel. And throughout the ten-day developmental process, the entire workshop and final showing of Cries and Whisper will be documented and preserved by cinematographer, Josh Hayes.

In December, we will return to New York City to present a full production of Cries and Whispers for a select audience. The Stranger will receive a similar workshop and premier in the spring and summer of 2011. It is our hope that these shows will be able to tour nationally and internationally in the coming years, and we seek partnerships to that end.

ROLL UP YOUR SLEEVES... GRAB A SHOVEL... FOCUS THE LIGHTS... SMEAR ON THAT GREASEPAINT AND...

COME JOIN THE TERRA FIRMA FAMILY!

Your generous contribution will be used to pay for our artists stipends. We feel it is vital to pay our artists for their time, creativity, and dedication. These stipends will allow the artists to fully immerse themselves in the work.

This $3,000 goal is only a small portion of our budget. So any contributions donated over our goal, will go to helping us reach our entire budget of $10,000!

To show our gratitude for your support, you will receive updates on all the work, as well as, some nifty and thrilling thank you gifts. And if that weren't enough... your donation can be taken off your taxes! How cool is that?

Together, with your financial support, we can create theatre that pushes the boundaries of our minds and stretches our sense of reality. Together, we can create theatre that is not only new, but lasting.

Join us in creating a brand new theatrical journey.
