…Surveillance Valley is only two weeks in, and is inching close and closer to its final funding goal every day. I'll be publishing more updates as we get closer to deadline.

Meanwhile, Pando Daily just published a new investigative "Surveillance Valley" piece that I’ve been working on for the past several months.

It's a story about how U.S. military and intel agencies fund today’s grassroots privacy movement and encryption tech — highly regarded tools that are supposed to protect people from the very same U.S. government intelligence apparatus that pays for their development.

It’s a wild, dark and contradictory story that takes us all the way back to the beginning of the Cold War. And it's just a taste of the hidden history of the Internet that will be told in greater detail in my Surveillance Valley book.

Check it out here: Internet privacy, funded by spooks: A brief history of the BBG

Talk soon. And a huge thank you to everyone who has contributed so far. Surveillance Valley can't happen without you!
