We love card games, we take them everywhere, and play them with everyone. Two things we don't like, boxes that wear out and keeping them nicely organized and stored when we aren't playing them.
We came up with a solution for each problem, well actually six solutions.
Not sure what problem we are referring to, check this out.
Thank you to Suzanne Sheldon @425Suzanne a Dice Tower contributor for the before and after pics.
Update #4 Completely assembled Travel XL Single Stack
This unit holds between 6 and 12 games, and is portable due to the addition of a clear acrylic lid. It even has space to hold full size rulebooks.
Update #3 Completely assembled XL Cube
You wanted a bigger Cube, you want your Cube assembled. You got it.
A bigger Cube means bigger Game Boxes. These Game Boxes are 6 3/4" wide x 4 3/4" deep by 1 3/4" tall overall closed size.
You can see the new reward options explained in Update 3.
Update #2 Box Options
Update #1 Deck Boxes for Collectible Card Games
We have had more than a few requests for boxes that will hold premium sleeved collectible cards like the ones used for Magic the Gathering (C). We went out and bought a 100 card Commander Deck and 100 Ultra Pro premium card sleeves and spent the rest of the day testing out some designs. The results are two new boxes. The Open End Deck Box and the Open Side Deck Box. Each one holds 100 cards, they also come with some dividers in case you want to use it to hold tokens, or something other than cards.
We had to change up the design of the Single Stack and the Cube a tiny bit. We added an extra 1/16" of vertical space to each section. This means the storage units went from 10 1/2" tall to just shy of 11" tall. We think the change is totally worth it. We added that extra 1/16" of height to the interior height of the Tuck Box design as well.
What does this mean? When you fill out your survey at the end of the campaign, we will ask you what you want for boxes. You can mix and match in any combination you want. You could get 6 Tuck Boxes, 6 Open End Deck Boxes, or even 2 Tuck Boxes, 2 Open End Deck Boxes and 2 Open Side Deck boxes. The prices for all of the different boxes are the same.
We hope that you will spread the word about these new box options to your friends who play collectible card games. We appreciate everyone who showed us there was still a new for it and we are glad we could make it happen during the campaign.
Wooden Tuck Boxes
The first solution is the wooden tuck box. Designed to hold about 100 cards or a micro game with a small number of cards and tokens. This box is rugged enough to throw in your bag and not worry about. The inside dimensions of the box are 4 3/4" wide by 3 3/4" deep x 1" tall. The outside dimensions of the box with the lid on are 5 1/4" wide by 4 1/4" deep by 1 1/2" tall. The little notch at the bottom lets you put a rubber band around it if you need to.
The Second Solution is the Wooden Single Stack Storage Unit
Designed to hold six games in a tight stack, it has the smallest footprint we could give it. The outside dimensions of the unit are 5 7/8" wide x 4 5/8" deep x 10 1/2" tall. It comes with five removable shelves in case you need to store an odd sized game.
Maybe you have more than a few card games though?
Our Third Solution is the Wooden Cube Storage Unit
This unit holds twenty four games in a tiny amount of space. The Outside dimensions of this unit are 10 1/4" wide x 10 1/4" deep x 10 1/2" tall.

What Materials Are We Using?
We are using 1/4" Baltic Birch for the Storage Unit Sides, Top, Bottom and Back. The removable shelves and the tuck boxes are out of 1/8" Baltic Birch. We love to use Baltic Birch because it is dimensionally stable, has only occasional knots, uses only a few "football patches" in an entire 5' x 5' sheet and we will do our best to avoid those as much as possible. It also stains very easily and we love the way walnut stains looks on it.
Why Do Most of the Rewards Come Unassembled?
Simple answer, to cut down on the cost of shipping. We would love to assemble all of the rewards ourselves, but the shipping cost is just too prohibitive to do so. We apologize. We will post an instruction sheet and film a video for assembly of each reward item. We would recommend putting it together with a bit of wood glue or super glue. If you can put some clamps on it, or even a stack of books for a few hours that should help lock it all in place while the glue dries.
How Do We Make These?
We are using a 90 watt CO2 laser cutter to do all the manufacturing. The sheets are sanded and stained as necessary before going onto the laser cutter.
Why Do the Tuck Boxes Have Burns On One Side?
The laser beam generates incredible heat as it vaporizes the wood in it's path. The scorching occurs when the beam bursts through the bottom of the wood. It is a combination of smoke, scorching and a bit of the laser beam getting reflected back from the metal support Structure underneath. The good news is, it can be easily sanded off. We will even include a piece of sandpaper to do it. We will be sanding the bigger parts of the Single Stack Unit and the Cube, so they will have minimal to no burns on them.
What If I Don't Want Walnut Stain?
You can get them unstained. The natural Birch veneer is beautiful as well. Here is a side by side comparison of the two.
Risks and challenges
This is our sixth Kickstarter Project. All of them have been successfully fulfilled. Our last project fulfilled in two months from the end of the campaign. The main challenge we face is shipping. We have minimized that challenge by shipping rewards mostly unassembled and not doing international shipping. Sorry international backers, we wish it were more affordable and less of a headache to ship to you, but the one lesson we have learned is despite our best wishes, it never is.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
