9DKP Anime Project (Canceled)
An ancient stone randomly gives shape shifting powers to 9 different people to battle against a zombie army. Cats vs Zombies!
9DKP (9 Deadly Killer Pussies ) will be a new anime that is about nine different people that are randomly chosen to receive shape shifter powers. These powers are given to them once a cat demon named Babusa is accidentally freed from his imprisoned state within the 9 Eyes Stone. The story would be centered around the last member of the 9DKP, who thinks he won his powers through a prize, and feels he doesn't need to be in the team since he's "NUMBER 1".
Here's a quick rundown of the characters of 9DKP!
When you back this project, please tell us which ones are your favorite in the comments section! Thank you!
This anime project will be hand animated by Asahi Production and English dubbed. Through Kickstarter, our aim is to produce an episode of 20 minutes duration. Your support can help us produce the anime and if we can reach our stretch then we can increase the length of the episode to over 40 mins or more. All of us involved are hoping to raise over $160,000 with this Kickstarter project.
The funding will go towards three areas. First it will go to Kickstarter/Amazon right off the top for allowing us to use this awesome service. Second, the funding will be used to produce the pledge awards. The third and most important area as to where the remainder will go is to produce the 9DKP anime.
Producing a handmade animated project is very expensive. We aim to produce quality work, and helping us reach our stretch goals will enable us to hire more staff to increase the quality/duration of the project.
Meet some of the 9DKP staff that will be working on the project. This section will be updated as we get closer to hitting our goals allowing us increase staff.
*Our preproduction team is still in progress and will have some very interesting talent joining us! We will keep updating this as the project rolls out.*

Established in 1973, Asahi is one of the oldest animation studios in Japan. They have contributed to over 100 famous animation titles for other major animation companies such as Toei Animation and Sunrise, to name a few. Their skills and expertise are sought out as one of the premier sourcing for production work. Some of that work includes titles such as: Fairy Tail, Naruto SD Rocklee, Saint Seyia, Devil Survivor 2, Jojo's Bizarre Adventures, Final Fantasy Episode Denzel, One Piece Strong World and Attack on Titan!
When Erick Scarecrow lost his job back in 2005, he shook it off, sharpened his pencils, got some paint, and found his label ESC-Toy Ltd. (esctoy.com) Among being a self taught artist that produces traditional 2D and 3D art, Erick expresses his work through collectible figures and also includes short stories about his characters. Since the launch of esctoy.com, Erick has released over two hundred collectibles in a variety of different platforms such as plush, vinyl, and resin. He has won multiple awards that include Artist of the Year.
ESC has also produced collectibles for other companies such as Sony Computer Entertainment, Klei Entertainment, and Limited Brands to name a few.
This is the very first Kickstarter project for Asahi Production, ESC-Toy Ltd., and myself. To be honest, a good friend recommended it to me but I was very shy about approaching it with 9DKP. After I have seen many projects become successes and after participating in pledging, it inspired me to bring 9DKP to Kickstarter. Asahi, ESC, and myself are all in and ready to make this happen with your support. While I've been designing and producing collectibles for over a decade, creating and producing an animation is an exciting new territory for me. It's a new level that I've been aspiring for.
Over the last 5 years, since I've created 9DKP, I have approached many networks, game developers/publishers, and reps. While they did like the 9DKP project, none of them wanted to take the risk to make it a form of entertainment. I know in my heart that this project deserves to be shared with a very large global audience. This Kickstarter platform allows me, as an individual creator, to present my project directly to the public and gain support from those that are interested in seeing it come to life.
Asahi Production is a group that believes in the 9DKP project as much as I do. This is the first time that they putting their reputation behind someone like myself who is totally new to the animation production craft but they see the potential that I have. Having them join me on this venture is humbling and a very big deal for me. They are taking the risk to help produce a new project that's not based on a best selling manga, game, or toy. They believe they can take 9DKP to the next level with your help. All the concept is stuff ESC and myself have produced over the years. The 9DKP manual will give you a basic idea of what we are trying to do. If we can hit all of our goals, we will do something that never was done before. This is literally a game changer.
For example if we hit one of the highest levels on the Stretch Goal list we will produce a 9DKP feature at 90 mins long, along with a bonus animated side story (Backer Zombies x Anime Expo side story) at 30 mins long, and a 9DKP Backer voted anime project at 20 mins long. All 9DKP Backers will get to vote which characters they want to appear in the story and what scenario they'll be in. Our job will be to make it work and to please you, our audience. We promise to produce work that our backers and anime fans will enjoy. Please give us that chance to make this happen. Thank you!
Special Thanks to the following people that helped get this Kickstarter campaign going: Marc DeAngelis and Shirley Medina for breaking night with me for the final launch, Hato Moa, Yajima, Ohashi Takamasa (voice), Mladen Djukic (Aeon Production) for the teaser, Jonathan "JL" LaMantia, Jeongmiin Kim for taking a chance (Asahi Production), Anna Yamamoto "for the last minute subbing" , Caio Yo Souza, Matt Morton "for telling me about this crazy place called Kickstarter.", and to you, the backers that believe in this project. Without you we can't make this happen. Let's make history together!
