About this project
I AM AN INDEPENDENT GAME DESIGNER/DEVELOPER
I am an indie game developer, that means that my game developing is not really for profit. It is for your entertainment, and if you don't like this game, your support is still welcome, because I know that one of my projects will entertain you! I truly believe I can create a game that can entertain you! I hope you enjoy this game as much as I do, and if you don't, I'll get you next time ;)

I am very lucky to get this oppurtunity, and I hope you will support me! This doubling from OUYA will really help me as an indie dev, and will allow me to do much much more for you guys! * THE GAME *
Pixel Star - 01 is a space shooter game in which you are in charge of piloting a ship called the Pixel Star - 01 to see how far it can travel through space. Use fuel gates and collect power-ups while dodging obstacles such as space mines and alien ships. This 8-bit game comes with 135 achievements (as of now) and a shop where you can purchase new ships, upgrades, and utilities with the in-game pixel currency to get higher scores.
WHAT IS COMPLETE :

WHAT WILL BE COMPLETE (BY RELEASE):

Kickstarter is the best way for me to connect with people that might like my game. Especially now since OUYA says they will promote it using their social channels, newsletters, and blogs! So this is truly the best opportunity for me to get more entertaining indie games to you guys. I make the games for your entertainment!
* I have a pretty small audience as of now, so its up to you guys to share this kickstarter with your friends, family, family friends, friends' families, people you know, and don't know (be safe).
* YOUR MONEY *
YOUR SUPPORT ON KICKSTARTER goes into funding for the game's polishing, and releasing. Polishing means fixing bugs, adding new sounds and music, and implementing new ideas to enhance gameplay for you guys! The releasing part is very expensive. I will have to purchase development kits, conversion modules, and devices to test the game. The development kits are for when my development kit can't communicate with the platform I am trying to deploy my game on to. The program I use, Game Maker Studio (yoyogames.com), has conversion modules which each cost $99 to $199 that allow me to run my games on different devices. Once I have my game converted, I will need to buy the appropriate devices, such as a mac computer (costs a lot) or an android tablet (also costs a lot). After that I have to share time between game design and school work (and other activities) to optimize my game for that device. Finally I will need to purchase developer accounts and things of that sort to put my game onto the app store or the windows store which also costs a bit of money, depending on the store. Since I am a 16 year old independent developer, most of this money comes from my dad, and I hate asking my dad to purchase things, especially when we don't seem to receive any of that valuable money that we've spent. I am hoping that your support on kickstarter will be able to change that, even just a small donation would help very much.
REWARDS TIME OF ARRIVAL:
Most of the reward timings depend on the OUYA exclusivity that is part of the #freethegames. OUYA is asking for 6 months of exclusivity on their console. If I fail to earn enough (I will be very sad), most of the rewards will probably be sent out 6 months earlier than their estimated arrival times. Here are the times for the rewards that are affected.

PC : 1 month before PC version is released, at least 6 months after OUYA release. This will be free, but since it will be free for everyone when it comes out, I will get it to you 1 month before it comes out. (to make it feel special)
Mac : 1 month before Mac version is released, at least 6 months after OUYA release. This will be free, but since it will be free for everyone when it comes out, I will get it to you 1 month before it comes out. (to make it feel special)
Other iOS devices : When that device version is released, at least 6 months after OUYA release. This will not be free on release, so I will get you a free version on release. (This is limited to 50).
Android : 1 month before Android version is released, at least 6 months after OUYA release. This will be free, but since it will be free for everyone when it comes out, I will get it to you 1 month before it comes out. (to make it feel special)
OUYA : When the OUYA version is released. This will not be free on release, so I will get you a free version on release.

Risks and challenges
There is no big risk or challenge involved in this project. I just have to make sure to stay motivated (with your help) to work hard to optimize the game for different devices, and send em out in time for you guys.
