The 3rd full-length film by writer/director Jak Kerley which follows two art students on a seemingly wasteful summer day.
How will I be able to see this movie?Once completed, the movie will be screened in Savannah, Georgia, then a few weeks later in Kingston, Massachusetts. Once it has those two screenings, it will be released for sale on Amazon.com couretsey of Createspace.com for a month, then it will be released to everyone as a free download!
When will it shoot?
Shooting will begin on June 4th and last two weeks, give or take a few days depending on how fast the shoot is. Currently I'm hoping for a release in October.
What is it about?
Following in the footsteps of Linklater's Slacker and Smith's Clerks, Bohemians is a movie about "nothing." It offers a funny, realistic, dialogue-driven glimpse into the lives of these two art students, and we see how they have changed in a 24 hour period. Whether they're falling in or out of love, losing a friend or making one, or simple becoming better artists, main characters Mike and Spencer will learn that a day can change everything.
Who is involved?
Doing the heaviest amount of work will be cinematographer/writer/producer/editor/director Jak Kerley. Having shot over 15 shorts and 2 full-length films before the age of 20, he is definitely someone with a passion for getting things done. He is currently finishing his sophomore year at the Savannah College of Art and Design studying Film and Television. In 2011 he completed his first full-length film Vital Signs on a budget of just under 500 dollars. Returning from Vital Signs will be Spencer Young and Mike Oftring in the two lead roles. A trailer containing clips from Vital Signs can be seen below:
Most importantly, how are you using my money?
Mostly, the money will be going to pay the hard-working actors and crew. Jak Kerley will not be taking any payment for this movie, and any left over money will go towards advertising to help this movie get seen by more people. Money will also be spent to help purchase costumes, feed the actors, production design, and purchase any other necessary props.
