Have a question?
ahh ok cheers Derek
Gary doesn't respond to messages, especially on here. We're still waiting for his other Kickstarter to come through as well. Sorry to hear that you never got your cards, Jay.
great got ripped off again on kickstarter woo
This is becoming more than a joke, a reply would have been nice. Now thats 2 projects I have been burned on :(
Still nothing and I sent a message to Gary but no reply this is becoming frustrating :(
Anyone else still waiting in England?
Still havent recieved my decks and uncut getting a bit miffed now
My prints were all bent at the corner as well. Waste of money.
Just got my cards today (Canada) and like Laurie MacDougall and others, I got an art print that did not have any protection and is not bent out of shape with very defined creases. From a distance, and with the light not hitting it, it's fine, but as soon as any light hits it, they become very noticeable. It's really quite distracting.
There is a discussion of a playing card project going on at http://www.reddit.com/r/kickstarter/comments/1oboud/warning_beware_of_fraudulent_kickstarter_projects/ if anyone is interested. While that thread started out as a complaint against a specific card project (The Founder's Playing Cards), it has morphed into a general discussion of a) outright fraud on Kickstarter, b) Kickstarter's role in all this, and c) projects like this one where the creator is woefully unprepared for the logistics of dealing with their project.
Hopefully, creating a discussion outside of Kickstarter that consolodates complaints will be helpful in coming up with long-term solutions. If you decide to add to the discussion there, please be constructive with your comments. It probably won't help to get your pledge from this project, but it may help push Kickstarter into making changes for the benefit of everyone. That Kickstarter needs to be pushed into doing so is one of the topics of discussion.
Mine finally showed - I'm in the US.
Prints were fine, cards were fine. I'm actually pretty pleased with the lot.
I just got mine today(and I'm also in Canada) so, it should arrive within the next few days for other Canadian backers.
Gary last logged in on the 15th it says. It would have been decent if he replied to these comments.
Canadian backer, and still waiting on mine.
(Continued since I accidentally hit Post...) So now my friend's gift is not just late, but damaged. A frame is not going to do anything to fix the bends. So yay.
Between the delays and the poor shipping, I'm really regretting spending my money on this one...def won't be backing him again.
I finally got mine (2 decks + an art print) and am very unhappy with the packaging. The print was thrown into a huge envelope with the decks but no protection other than a piece of foam around the front...which helped the front from being scratched, but that was it. The lack of cardboard meant that the print arrived all bent and banged up from the decks hitting it.
If I don't get mine by the end of next week, I will definitely be sending Gary a message about it.
I am also still waiting. Wondering if part of the hold up for my cards is that they were supposed to be signed. Hoping so - I would dearly hate to have to read Gary the riot act in public. :/
I received mine three weeks ago (US backer). I can't think of any reason why the rest of you haven't unless Gary ran short on product. Of course this is all conjecture because Gary avoids this site like the plague.
Still haven't received mine, and I never got a response to my emails about a change in my shipping address. Not impressed with the level of customer service here.
US backer, still waiting
Still waiting for mine in England :(
still waiting on mine =/
Received mine yesterday. They do look good and glad they have finally arrived (I'm in Canada btw).
I just got mine yesterday and the cards look great.
Got my retailer pack this morning in the wilds of the BC Interior. A little bit murky, but otherwise very nice, and I'm proud to carry them in my store. Thanks!
Still haven't received mine yet, but I'm chalking that up to living in a different country.
I received my cards last week. I am glad to see them, and I am sure I will put them to good use. I am a little disappointed, as the card artwork seems a bit dark or muddy to me. Not as bright as the PDF artworks. Still, I have to say, it is better than nothing.
I received my cards last week, and they came out great! Thanks for the opportunity to back it up.
Got mine today.
Are these being sent out from GAME LORE LTD via ParcelForce? I just got a shipment mail sent to my Kickstarter email address, and I'm trying to find out what it is
Got mine on Friday!
An update on the shipping progress would be nice.
A good question would be:
"Have all the cards been sent out yet?"
Still haven't received mine.
Got mine yesterday! Will be nice to have some cards the kids will enjoy checking out.
Cards arrived today! Thanks for sticking with it guys!
Looks like it's not a scam, Bradly.
Dylan, message Gary and even Michael directly through the e-mails on their Fire Mountain Games website, and title the subject heading with something along the lines of "Changed Mailing Address for Creature Cards - Please Don't Send There".
This is a complete scam.
How do I change my mailing address for this? I've moved since I backed this kickstarter and need to change the address you're sending it to.
As we all know, it has been 13 days since our last update. GenCon, the crucial date mentioned in Gary's last update, ended August 18. That was 9 days ago. One would have hoped that an update would have been posted yesterday, at the latest, telling us the current status. As many have stated, even if the status is just, "Still waiting for cards to arrive," we would be happier than we are now. After the failure of several Kickstarter projects recently, many are beginning to feel that silence means failure, and failure means we backers lose out.
Nobody wants failure. We want action.
Next week, I hope, we backers will start hearing that the cards are actually shipping. If I get mine, I will post here right after we have our "Wow, did we get lucky!" party.
If that was an "update" from Gary, why didn't he post the link himself for this project and his other project? I know ... you can't answer that question. I just find it ironic that he takes the time to have a video clip made in the form of an interview and doesn't even post it on Kickstarter himself. Not surprised, mind you. Just ironic.
Gary's update is in the form of an hour long interview...
For those that want to watch, it's Gary's interview with Rite Publishing. He talks about Throne of Night, how the Creature Cards are doing, and thanks the backers. http://www.youtube.com/watch…
Gary? C'mon man! You should say something sooner! ONCE A WEEK.
Two weeks before shipping starts. Figure two weeks at most to go through it all then two weeks at most before arrival. Latest order should be there in six weeks.
Gary....please PLEASE update
1) when you receive cards from printer
2) when 25% of the batch is out the door
3) etc. until 100%
Agreed - much appreciation.
Stephen - Thanks for spearheading Operation Update.
I recently got my drawing from Michael Clarke, man do I love his work. I need to get more drawings done by him.
I got a message from Michael Clarke this evening. We are hoping to get a response from Gary McBride by tomorrow. Mr. Clarke apologizes to all the Creature Card backers for these delays. Though he has no control over things, he realizes how frustrating it can be.
