Skate or Die follows a group of friends as they traverse the perils of their teenage angst and confront the monstrous evil they have unwittingly released upon the world.
Our story starts with a group of skaters - hanging out at their local spot outside a small antiquities / curiosity shop
When the skaters accidentally smash the front window of the shop - they unknowingly also damage an unusual ancient artefact. The artefact has been hidden for centuries and when damaged releases something terrible - a hideous, obscene monster from the very depths of hell itself.
The skaters flee - but the monster hunts them down and picks them off one by one.
A small band of resourceful surviving skaters are all that remains to defeat the monster, avenge their friends and save the world.
Who are our Skaters?
Mark - Our main character. Arguably the best skater of the group, confident, charming, sticks up for his friends. His tendency to take control when things go wrong makes him the unofficial leader of the group.
Connor - Mark's best friend. Shyer than the other skaters, and overshadowed by the more confident Mark. Connor has a deep love of films and possibly Mark.
Ashley - Mark's girlfriend, fun loving and creative. Enjoys taking risks but not to the same degree as Mark.
The Other Guys - A group of young skaters, out to have fun and show off their skills. Not really prepared to fight monsters from hell. Life expectancy may be rather short....
Who else is in the story?
Antiquity Shop Owner - War veteran with a mysterious past, a hidden secret and a distrust of skaters.
The Cabinet - A unique and unusual artefact. It speaks to the shop owner - an evil voice from beyond - begging to be set free so it can eat....
The Monster - A ball of teeth and tentacles set on utter destruction. Has developed a taste for skaters.....

Edward Bentley is a freelance painter, animator, sculptor and despite all this has ended up drawing comic-books. You may recognise his work from previous Kickstarters with Mad Robot Comics. Edward studied animation at the Wales Institute of Art and Design. His work is heavily influenced by pop culture & street art. He lives in West Sussex with his partner Dan. Dan wants a dog. Edward wishes he could draw more comics featuring a Mutated Giant Octopus - because they’re awesome.

About the comic.
Skate or die issue one is a 36 page comic book. It will be printed on Silk coated 115 GSM - giving a glossy, professional product. Skate or die issue one is a stand alone story however I would ideally like to continue with the characters and the underlining story arc in future issues if the reception to this is good. Skate or die issue one will be published through Mad Robot Comics.
The alternate cover artist.
"SNUB is a graphic revolution fighting the uninvited visual invasion of commercialism. Inspiration is fired by frustration; emotion becomes a plan of attack. Anger is the weapon, and any object the ammo in the fight against the optical overload"
