Tiny Biome is a simple game with simple rules. Grab your telescope and zoom right in to the heat of the microbial battle! You control a micro-organism on your quest for world domination. Your world, however, is a tiny puddle of primordial soup. Just nutrients, viruses, bacteria, minerals, and lots of water.
Oh, and I forgot to mention... There's other people, controlling other organisms, willing to do whatever it takes to gobble you up.
This project is to fill a void that other games almost fill. I don't want to grind my way up through levels like most online games, but I do want a lot of other players to fight. I don't want people to be stronger by virtue of having played longer and earned more items.. No.. I want it to be pure skill! That's why this game needs to exist. With drop-in drop-out playing, simple actions, and frequent deaths, it will be down to your own skill and developed intuition to rise to the top. You can split your organism, shooting half off like a projectile at your enemy.. Or save with someone who is about to die in hopes of a small reward. Or simply drift around the puddle, soaking up any minerals or vitamins you happen across.
Whatever your play style, it will be supported!
Graphically, I'm no wizard. However, I will be developing full theme support, with in-game switching! So you can browse themes that artists develop.
The reason why I need funding for this is so I can devote the proper time to it. Since I had the idea 24 hours ago, I've put in 14 hours. Already hundreds of people have played and more have pledged their support! I'd like to continue at this pace, and the community is appreciating it. This kickstarter would just allow me to continue at the pace I am.
Risks and challenges
There is no chance of failure for producing the game, start to finish. There may be a risk that the game will not find the player count to succeed. Also, with the servers being hosted by third-parties, there may not be enough support to keep up with possible popularity.
Money fixes both of those issues. Should they crop up, I'm sure a few small ads will help.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
