One Night: 80's themed Action RPG - Diablo meets Earthbound (Canceled)
One Night is a horror, fantasy, action RPG set in small-town USA during the iconic 1980s that celebrates classic genre films of the era
Our story begins One Night in the year 1983. A strange cult in the small town of Watford, Arizona has been working late hours to contact The Great Beyond. In their ignorance they have made contact with an ancient evil. Now, after waiting for patient millennia, The Demon Lord Baphomet has stepped through their gate and into their world.
In order to remain on the earth Baphomet must take an earthly bride before the sun rises. The demon king has set his evil eye on your neighbor Ophelia. Crashing through her window in the dead of night he spirits her away to his fortress Leviathan. With mere hours to complete the perverse ritual of demonic wedding, Baphomet hides above the town secure behind the protections of his Five Demon Generals.
Now in the twilight hours before dawn, while the dead rise from their graves and demon’s wreak havoc in the streets you must unseat the Five Generals from their demonic strongholds and pursue Baphomet into his fortress to rescue Ophelia before it's too late.
One Night is a game about coming of age, cosmic horror, and true love. The player takes control of John as his adventure's lead him through an hour by hour experience of what may be everyone's last night on Earth. He will encounter unearthly evils, Demon lords, afflicted townsfolk, high school bullies, and a torrent of engaging serial-like side stories all nested in a larger than life fantasy that brings the ultimate evil to a neighborhood near you.
Playing The Main Quest - The main Quest of One Night involves defeating the Five Demon Generals and gaining access to Baphomet's fortress known as Leviathan. After the first introductory chapter of the game (we call it Midnight) the entire map of Watford opens up for the player to explore and the Five Demon Generals can be defeated in any order.
Picking Your Class - you have the choice of 1 of 9 classes, the class you choose decides your base play style while the skill trees allow further customization of your desired play-style, rather than implementing a balance on all classes, each class is weighted differently providing each with a unique play-style.
Building Your Character - Each class has a skill tree split into 3 branches, each branch holds 10 talents. As you level up you are allotted points to spend into any of the the three branches of your class. Once you have chosen your first talent in a branch you are locked into that specific branch until level ten. When you have reached level ten, you are free to cross over into another branch. This allows you to fully customize your play-style, if you want to put talents into the Barbarian branch at the start of the game but later find you also want to add the Rogue branch into the mix, you can. This adds amazing replay value even if you have chosen the same class over multiple play-throughs.
Exploring The World - One Night rewards players for engaging with the world and not with their menus. Armed with only a notebook to keep track of all the rumors and info you accumulate, it'll be up to you to plunge the depth of Baphomet's wicked plot. Across the mundane locales of the small town dozens and dozens of unique and gripping questlines stories await you.
Finding The Best Gear - Multi tiered loot tables with variable drop rates, quest rewards, and items hidden throughout the town. Items range from totally Common to completely Unique. The items you collect provide an extra dimension to character stat development and have special abilities that make for powerful additions to your play-style.
Red shirt zombie won't be the only one attacking you... The dark influence of Baphomet blankets the town of Watford. As if tugged at by an evil magnet, the creatures of his hateful dimension are drawn irresistibly to the presence of their Lord. Terrible goblins of unthinkable form terrorize the neighborhood and warp the minds of the townsfolk. Even the evil dead have stubbornly risen from their graves to attack the innocent. Defeat their evil master, root them out, and save the town.
