Hello! Thank you for checking out the Kickstarter. I am proud to present you with The Disasters.
The Disasters is an action/comedy book about four supervillains who are on the run from the police and every superhero in the country after they all play part in accidentally, kinda, killing a hero.
The first issue will introduce the four main characters in four 5 page stories that tell their backstories and leads into the main story. The short stories will also be bookended with a beautiful page of art that you can find below. This brings our first issue in at an amazing 22 pages. The comic is being published in partnership and support with Loophole Comics.
The book is being written by and will be lettered by me, Micah Myers.
Micah Myers has lettered for Zenescope Entertainment, Alterna Comics, 215 Ink, Devil's Due Entertainment, and tons of small press books. He has lettered several pitch stories for Kelly Bender, CW Coooke, and Mark Bertolini. He is the letterer for All Hallows Eve (215 Ink) and Elasticator (Scout Comics).
The bookend page (check it out slightly above this) is done by Hoyt Silva.
Hoyt Silva can have his work found in Operation: Nemesis, Mercy Sparx, and Quatermain. He also has a new book in the works, Adventures in Crime, from Action Lab.
The Enforcer is a former pro wrestler who has a vendetta against the superhero who cost him his job. He didn't set out to become a supervillain, but remember what your mom said about being known by the company you keep? The Enforcer's story will be drawn by Bobby Simpson.
Bobby Simpson is a Muppet who was introduced by Jim Henson in 1986. Most of his time revolves around reading comics, drawing, thinking about Dusty Rhodes, and disappointing his parents. https://twitter.com/robertesimpson
Bimara is a super-powered thief whose latest score puts her in the wrong place at the wrong time. She is a second generation Indian-American who has powers similar to Count Vertigo. (She gives you the spins.), and uses them to keep herself looking fashionable. Bimara's story will be drawn by Marie Enger.
Marie Enger lives near bricks and broken bottles, colors comics, but only wears black. She was the colorist on Pistolwhip, 2 Sisters, Pastaways, some stuff publishers won’t let her talk about yet, and might have been that green mohawk’d punk you saw the other day. Her style has been called “manic and tightly controlled.” She is inspired by punk music, celtic mythology, bicycles, and blood. Lots of blood.
Glider Hench #4 is a lifetime henchman who is looking for his chance to move up in the world. He is equipped with wrist air blasters that keeps him in the air with the help of his wing suit. He can also use his air blasters against the fool who steps up to the fight. Glider Hench #4's story will be drawn by Morgan Sawyer.
Morgan Sawyer is a Cartoonist/Visual Story Teller that graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University. He has been described by his writer as an enigma that stares into the void after regrettably watching fan4tastic in theaters. He uses traditional inks in creative ways to tell a story in his own style.
Snow Globe is a demolition expert who who provides his skills for hire to add to his beloved collection. He doesn't know why he likes to watch things explode. Maybe because he likes the way everything is up in the air and slowly drifts to the earth. Snow Globe's story will be drawn by Joe Badon.
Joe Badon is a freelance comic book artist. He resides with his wife and two kids in Slidell, Louisiana. He has been working as a full time freelance illustrator since 2009. He has worked on such comics as Terra Kaiju, Memoirs of the Mysterious, Outside the Lines, Pirates, Zombies and a Cowboy, Frankenbabe and on many other commercial and private commissions.
Night Guardian is the antagonist of the first issue. He is a street level vigilante with a cocky attitude. He will appear in all the short stories including the bookend page above. (Can you spot him?) He was designed by Paul Gori.
Hoyt Silva did this amazing art piece of Glider Hench #4 in action. You can see his work and links above.
DC Stuelpner did this print of everybody's new favorite character, Snow Globe.
D.C. Stuelpner is drawer of drawings and pun aficionado. You can see his work currently on Adamant which is also on Loophole Comics.

One of proudest things, besides The Disasters and my kids, is Kayfabe. Along with the Zakk Saam and Marta Tanrikulu, I put together an anthology of pro wrestling comics with Mark Bertolini, CW Cooke, Kurt Belcher, Daniel Franco, Christ Welsh, James Hornsby, and tons of more. At over 100 pages, this is a much have for people whose loves include pro wrestling and comic books.
One of the coolest rewards, in my opinion, is the chance to get your pitch or comic lettered by me at a reduced rate. I am a professional comic book letterer who listed some credits above. It is a pain to have to scroll up, so here is some: Elasticator #1-3 from Scout Comics, Mercy Sparx #9,10-11, and FCBD 2016 story from Devil's Due, and Solitary Vol. 1 #4 and Vol. 2 #1. I would love to letter your comic so don't miss the opportunity.
Hey, when you saw Snow Globe did you think, I wonder what he looks like under the globe? Well, there is a reward where you can be the face of Snow Globe.
Also there are a few opportunities for you or your character to be in the comic in whichever story you want. Not just a background character. You will have a speaking part in The Disasters!
We hope to be able to announce lots of fun stretch goals as the Kickstarter progresses, but we are able to about talk about the first one. If we reach $3,000 we will add the option to get The Disasters #1 with a variant cover by artist, Drew Moss!
Drew Moss is a artist who has worked for Oni and IDW and whose books include Terrible Lizard, Blood Feud, The Colonized, and The Crow: Pestilence.
Ryan Cody has agreed to do a print of our team as a stretch goal. If you gave a pledge of $8 or more than you get the print. All we need to do to reach that goal is $3,250! Let's do this!
Ryan Cody is an artist who had worked on books for Image, Dark Horse, Dynamite, and IDW. He has recently started a webcomic, Fata Obstant Expeditions. http://fataobstant.thecomicseries.com/
Risks and challenges
The main risk is like any comic book. There can delays in getting the art done when life interferes. There are other possible things that could happen, but I have assembled a professional crew of artists that I am sure will get the job done promptly.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
