Our process focuses heavily on ensuring not only the quality but also the sanitation of our BSG products. We heat the grain to remove moisture and as a result remove the growing environment for any microorganisms. This heating process also kills anything potentially growing.
However, our sanitation process begins long before the processing of the BSG in the OURgrain kitchen. We receive only fresh BSG and freeze, heat, or use it immediately promoting not only quality but safety as well. As a team, we are writing a very rigorous HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) plan beginning with the brewers themselves, including their handling and storage of the BSG before it even gets to us! This plan is designed to be foolproof and potentially one day be accepted by the FDA.
