The core of Together is interdependence. Everything requires two players, working together. Designing co-op from the ground up we are able to explore and do things that would otherwise be impossible.
Every aspect of the game is designed for player interaction. To progress you have to think about what is best for each other, not just yourself. Together highlights the benefits that gaming can have on a relationship. It goes beyond having a conversation or doing something together. Interdependence is a key quality in a rewarding and successful relationship and Together allows you to experience and practice it in a tangible way.
Together will release initially on PC. Additional platforms may become available as stretch goals. You will both be able to play using the same keyboard. Controllers and mouse will be supported as well.
Some mechanics require you be together, other times apart. Some levels will require timing and coordination. Some levels seem simple at first, but playing them and only thinking about what you need instead of what you both need will result in failure.
We believe that games are an art form and wish to bring the experience to new audiences. We have kept the controls simple and the core game friendly. This makes Together a great way to introduce the ones you love to gaming.
In making the game approachable we didn't want to sacrifice depth either. There are optional objectives interwoven throughout the main campaign that even the most avid gamers find challenging.
Colors used in game mechanics were planned with the color blind in mind. Controls are kept simple to be accessible to as many people as possible. The game can be played with one hand. During the beta phase we will do everything we can to make the game playable for those with specific needs.

You play as Amna and Saif, a mother and son. Your loved one has fallen deathly ill and the only chance of a cure lies deep within a mysterious forest. Only together can you overcome the trials of the landscape and the great beasts of the forest to find the cure in time.
We are happy to announce that Filippo Beck Peccoz will be doing the music and sound design for Together. Filippo has worked on a number of games. Most recently he finished the fantastic music and sound for The Last Tinker : City of Colors. Here is some music he created for Together.

Designs for the Pin and T-Shirt have not been decided yet, we will open up voting for physical reward backers to decide designs.
Design a Level
If you can draw stick figures you can have a level in Together. It will have your name on it, if you want it too. We will take your outline of a level and implement it in game for you. You will then have the chance to get it play tested and talk to beta backers in the forums. You will have the opportunity to make several rounds of changes before the game is released.

While finishing my BA in painting and drawing from the University of Utah I took a quick detour into game design which completely took over my life. I love imagining distant landscapes and with games they can be explored . This is my third game project and second acting as art director.

A graduate of Berklee college of Music in Boston, I now make sounds and music exclusively for games from my hometown, Munich. I began recording myself singing along to Megaman tunes at the age of 6. I have a fascination for found sounds from household objects. My biggest inspirations are the work of Yuzo Koshiro and Thomas Newman!

I'm a self taught digital painter and video game artist with a passion for collaborative work. I've participated in many projects that have been published (in web design, video game development, animation, and illustration). I've also been published in ImagineFX. I enjoy doing technical work that is also artistic. Balancing the necessary elements to make it all come together is very satisfying for me.
Reaching our goal will allow us to make Together the game it's meant to be. With extra character and environment animations and more time to add additional polish, Kickstarter will help make Together really stand out. Lyle has self funded the development of Together and will continue to do so, but backing Together will give us the boost to make the game even better. $10,000 is less than it will take to finish the game, but we are not asking kickstarter to burden all the risk. All the money raised will go towards paying Becky, Evan, and Filippo.
Risks and challenges
During over a year of development on Together the vision for the project became clear. That was the most important part. We will now make the game the best that we can within that vision with the resources we have.
If the project is funded, the biggest risk is that we take longer than is estimated. The first line of defense against this is managing scope, which we will continue to do so that we don't run into this problem. We will do everything we can to meet our deadlines, but our first priority will be creating the best game possible.
