Made For Today, Designed For The Future.
Orca Helix can be lowered to 10' off the ground - Sitting ergonomically, means sitting lower; it is healthier to position yourself low, to reduce the chances of colorectal disorders, haemorrhoids, constipation, and is much healthier during pregnancy and more hygienic.
It can be adjusted up to 21" off the ground - making it urinal height, so no more missed shots, no more messes!
Be lifted or lowered - capable of aiding you getting off, whether you have bad knees, muscle pain or bad back.
Orca Helix's has built in bidet - you can be clean and save trees, not only water! You will be able to control this hygienic feature via your phone, or a knob on the left hand side of the bowl.
Maelstrom Flush is an innovative patented flush technology which will use significantly less water than traditional toilet. The flush is a two stage system, which flushes and also rinses it efficiently and effectively.
Orca Helix has bluetooth/wifi capabilities - control all functions and pre set all your seating/standing arrangements before you even walk into the bathroom, and be in control while you're in it.
The Lids will clean and sanitize the seat - be germ free with our innovative lid, and while the seat is being cleaned and sanitized, your bowl is being hit with UV light.
THE ORCA TEAM
We are an efficient and prolific team of five individuals from across the globe that came together because of the belief in this project, and the impact Orca will make. Each one of us brings a unique skill to make this project a reality.
Lokesh Reddy has had formal mechanical engineering training and his skills are 3D printer utilization and his former experience at Hindustan Aeronautics and Lisi Aerospace put him as an expert in selecting, calculating and testing gear ratios, motor components, and also water and air sealing specialist. His experience as a product development engineer & responsibilities for developing the manufacturing process for new products, made his experience a valued asset at Entijs Canada inc.
Vancho Stoev, our design engineer has formal training as a mechanical engineer in Macedonia, he is our 3D software drawing expert.
His expertise and in-depth knowledge of the softwares unique features, gave us an advantage in cutting time, and costs by running simulations before we brought the design to real world environment. Jure Korber is our Electrical engineer and he possess multiple degrees Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering, Bachelors in Science, and Master in Engineering.
Jure designed Orca’s PCB’s and took part in programming some of the logic for Orca. His past experience includes with Skyris drone, Stay Safe Aviation Fail Safe Systems, and uFBD Pharmaceutical devices, and many more. Ivan Gochko, the founder of Entijs and creator of Orca, has his own cause invested into this vision. The vision to have adjustable height toilet accessible to those that need it most, the ones that need the independence which some of us take for granted. His Experience in running a construction business for several years, gave Ivan intimate knowledge of how city & house drainage and plumbing system works, by seeing it built from the ground up.
Our goal with Orca Helix is to produce a product that brings people closer to our natural roots/ways through technological advancement. This means healthier posture during natures calls seatings, and cleaner and more hygienic environment, and of course more sustainability too.
Where did the idea come from?
The idea for Ivan was revolving for years prior to having his construction business, and before his mishap of being temporarily immobile due to a fracture on his foot. Living with his father and ill mother, as a teenager he understood the importance of a facility that was needed for individuals with disabilities.
Once the conception of the actual idea, this disability is what drove Ivan’s passion. Orca Helix is a simplified representation of the original Orca, made for individuals with mobility issues:
Orca Helix is the ideal product Ivan saw as the product he’d want to see in his bathroom. The functions are the result of Ivan’s personal everyday research he did in the special research room we all have at home.
How it works!
Our Orca Helix lid design is a more compact version of our original Orca’s steamer mechanism, and that is how it was inspired:
This design goes around the entire area of the bowl, steaming it, and a fibre cloth wiped behind it; located underneath the steamer head. However, on Orca Helix, we decided to place the steamer inside the lid:
The Sanitizing Flush:
Maelstrom Flush is an innovative patented flush technology which will use significantly less water than traditional toilet. The flush is a two stage system, first the larger water openings inside
the bowl cavities are activated and the water rushes in to flush everything, and then the small openings are activated via a separate valve, and in effect creates a jet stream that rinses the entire bowl, and cleans it efficiently and effectively.
All Our PCB’s , have been certified by an outside body to be manufacturing ready:
Bluetooth connection established, but more programming and testing is required to make Orca Helix run, smoothly and flawlessly.
Plan & Schedule
After three years we have done a lot of research, developing, and testing, therefore our next steps are as follows:

Orca Helix Timeline
Thank you for coming to the bottom of our kickstarter page, and learning more about our invention. It may be a toilet, but to us, the Orca team, it is so much more. Everyone of us has put in heart & mind into this projects, as it was a challenging one, but a rewarding one knowing the difference Orca will make. The biggest challenges that we faced was working with a multitude of elements; water, air, vacuum, vapour (steam), robotics, and understanding the earthly elements that will be deposited into it. Our other challenge was internal, which has to do with some of our team members not being in close proximity. This led to many video conferences, hand drawings, and typed explanations in order to be able to communicate the vision and details clearly, as it can get difficult working on a product, and not being able to see it, touch it, and work with it, especially for our electrical engineer, Jure. However, we have solved the product mechanical related challenges, and are able to take the next big steps, which is on site programming, refinement & then of course manufacturing. Peter Maika (Co-Founder) and I have spent $400,000 on the development of Orca’s, although this investment is a fraction of what it would have been, have we gone another route; and only develop one product, not two as we have been able to achieve. This investment was made not only to bring something revolutionary that is truly for everyone and sustainable, but also to keep the cost down, as we made many in house parts, such as pcb's, valves, and certain actuating mechanisms.
Furthermore, I am the kind of person that likes good things, quality things, therefore I always expect the best of everything I purchase, and so should you! Therefore, in the near future, when you decide to pre-order Orca Helix, you will get the best of Orca, which will be supported by a 10 year company warranty, and our commitment to provide not only the best product, but also our appreciation for you, through our kickstarter discounts. If you are a current believer and supporter in what we are doing, and an early adopter to be of Orca Helix, you will be able to own it at a discounted price off our $5500 (CAD) MSRP, for our base model on our next kickstarter launch (TBD Summer of 2019).
Risks and challenges
Risks and Challenges
There are always risks and challenges when developing something that hasn't been done in the same manner. In order to break the traditional approach, and to reinvent the toilet, we have wholly committed to the idea and have had very prolific years. This isn't founder's Ivan Gochko first kickstarter, he did a kickstarter nearly three years ago, where the goal of raising the money was to build the prototype. Despite the unsuccessful launch, Ivan persisted and through many hours of work, and learning curves, years on, the company built not one, but two working prototypes.
Although Ivan has a business background, he owned a construction company that dealt with foundations, structural work, drains and plumbing; his experience has given him intimate knowledge of how to build this product, by literally looking at it from the ground up.
There is still some work to do, as the company still needs to automate and unify the (PCB) controllers through software in order to bring a sophisticated adjustable and self sanitizing toilet to your home. Our motto at the company is, "if you can think it, it's not impossible" that’s how we’ve approached the entire development process so far, persistently returning to the drawing board to resolve every challenge along the way.
We are a team that's not just passionate about what we do, but we are also professionals, and engineers who have developed the tenacity and the drive to bring the best version of this product to you.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
