This is a book of thought-provoking, inspiring political quotes, words that should never be forgotten
Inspiration can be found in a number of places, in nature, in history, in people, in words. In politics, we always remember all of the campaign promises made, the scandals publicized or the name calling between the parties. And there are even a few quotes that we have committed to memory. But rarely do we focus on the real in-depth things that our political leaders have said.
Recently, I've come across statements made by Civil Rights Leaders, Presidents, Governors and others that I've never heard before. Real statements that will inspire real people living real lives. I'm not talking about those trite mantras, but I'm referring to a candid viewpoint on how we can work together, an inspiring thought as to how we can be better than we were before, a solid belief on how things should be. These statements are rarely brought to light but they should be and they should never be forgotten. That is the purpose of this book.
This book is a collaboration of inspiring thoughts from those who have had a hand in leading humanity in the past few centuries. It is a commemoration of the true genius and wisdom that can be reached when we lay aside our differences. It is a memorial of words that can be used to motivate a life, uplift a people or shape a generation.
In addition it is an opportunity for me to participate in the creation of something unique. As a graphic designer, I love the way words and space fit together on a page. This book will combine motivating words with compelling design to create something beautiful and thought-provoking.
About the Book
The book will be available in three different formats. It will be available in an electronic version, a soft-cover version and a hard-cover version. The hard-cover version is the ultimate goal. The soft-cover and hard-cover version of the book will be 10 x 8 in landscape format. The book will be 50 pages and will feature a contributor section.
It is designed as a coffee-table piece. My vision for the book, and this is evidenced in the design, is that it is unique enough to be displayed in a home and relevant enough that it will be stocked in libraries and schools.
Every backer will have his or her name featured in our contributor section. The color and size of each name will correlate to the amount of the pledge. The contributor section will be designed as an infographic.
