Brice's official company "OUI/WE/" debut is very active. We have to create the 1st work before September 30th. It is the deadline to apply for major dance festivals (Jacob Pillows, Dancer Responding to AIDS, etc.) and the Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP). The new work will also be performed at the Peridance Faculty fall showcase in NYC. All these dance events are very important for "OUI/WE/" to expose its imaginative world to the dance community but also to the audience.
In order to be able to complete this exciting journey with a strong production quality, we need to raise AT LEAST $7,900. This is our base budget including the stage rental, rehearsal studio fees, honorarium for 7 artists, costumes, props, recording the works, etc.
More excitingly, this work will premiere in the fall at the Peridance Faculty showcase. It will feature unique experimental lighting and props techniques.
A challenge for the body, a dare to the imagination, and a reconnection with humanity!
In this age of technology, when people have never been so connected, yet so alone, Brice Mousset company is an amplifying mirror of society and human behaviors. Brice uses his sensitivity to everyday life by observing people, their emotions, and their habits. The complexities of man and the distresses of society provide an unlimited source of inspiration which Brice stretches, exaggerates, and destroys with love, compassion, irony, humor and criticism.
The company not only presents dance which pushes the limits of physicality, imagination, and artistry. It also places on stage human beings with their very real struggles, their raw emotions, their strengths and flaws, for all to view and identify with. The movement is unguarded and marries risks with a visceral connection to emotions. This approach brings humanity to the story....a humanity that, in the end, is always looking for love.
OUI/WE/ takes its name from the French word for yes, and is pronounced, /WE/.
Oui... for positivity. Oui... for physical creativity. Oui... for truth
We... for team effort. We... for togetherness. We... for universality.
The Kickstarter campaign ends on September 30th, which is also my 33th birthday. Support us, support our debut. This is my wish for my new age.
(If I don't reach my goal of $7,900, I'll get nothing and everybody will be very sad.)
Thanks everyone! Merci!!
