We are hoda magazine, an enthousiastic team of writers, stylists, designers, illustrators and other creatives that have been working on our beautiful lifestyle magazine about Moroccan women for over 5 years. This year, we reunite for a special edition: our very first Ramadan Issue. We hope you enjoy our selection of fashion, food, beauty, columns and DIY's about this special month of the year - whether you are a Moroccan woman yourself or not.
With a pledge, you support our mission to let Moroccan culture and lifestyle be visible in our media. The more you pledge, the more we can print. And of course, you will receive your own copy of hoda magazine: The Ramadan Issue.

About hoda magazine
On August 1, 2011, we published the first edition of hoda magazine. It was the first day of the Ramadan that year, and so we wrote about food and how to fast during the Ramadan in a non-Muslim country. But of course we like fashion, beauty and human interest too - and so our lifestyle magazine began. For 5 years, we published this unique magazine that was the very first to portray the lifestyle of Moroccan women and to take readers along on a journey full of fashion, food and fun. So it probably won't surprise you that hoda is Arabic for guidance ;-)
About Hoda Hamdaoui
Hoda Hamdaoui is born in Morocco and grew up in The Netherlands from the age of 5. She had always been a great fan of magazines and read them from cover to cover. hoda magazine has been a means for her to create more visibility of Moroccan culture in a positive and entertaining way.
'It's about recognition and learning about another culture. I want to tell positive stories and share with the world what the Ramadan is really about. Here at Kickstarter, you can support this mission. Choose your pledge and enjoy our unique Ramadan Issue. The more you guys donate, the more we can print. I'm counting on you!'
Risks and challenges
The main challenge of publishing magazines is the sales. We've got this covered with a solid PR plan, including (social) media coverage, an iftar event and a magazine launch. hoda magazine has already proven successful sales, since the magazine has been published for 5 subsequent years. The magazine has stopped in 2016 because founder Hoda Hamdaoui wanted to focus on other projects, but she's very excited about reviving the magazine for this special occasion. Also, the (online) community of hoda magazine is still very much alive to this day.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
