This project offers a 28mm Meso-American pyramid suitable for tribal, lizardmen, pulp adventures, pirate, conquistador, Cthulhu and Frostgrave gaming and many other genres. Its design is inspired by classic Maya culture but is suitable for other meso-American tribes. With its modular design and add-ons you can use this piece in many different ways.
If you're new to this period there's even some options on some great miniatures.
The base piece for the project, a resin clad MDF shell measuring 256x310x110mm (10.07x12.2x4.33"). This allows an easy-build kit to be shipped as a flat pack and saves on your shipping costs.
Each vertical wall on all sides is decorated with authentic glyphs which come in large sections and the staircase is a single piece, so no tricky build. With over 170 glyphs total this is the most historically authentic 28mm stepped pyramid available. Reward cost £60.
It's sturdily made to survive even the harshest gaming experiences. This kit weighs just under 2kgs (4.4lbs) and we've tested how tough it is, including the shell, so no inherent weaknesses and definitely no sagging.
The temple building is decorated with over 64 glyphs and sculptures, has a removable roof and measures 124x76x130mm (4.88x2.99x5.11"). It's cast in solid resin. Reward cost £20.
The rear interior wall has a recess.
Into which you can set a sculpture of a Mayan King...
...or a Lizard King. Both are supplied with this reward. Or you can add your own.
The temple sits comfortably atop the pyramid, making the whole thing 240mm (9.44") tall.
Calendar Top Floor
The calendar top floor is interchangable with the regular top floor measuring the same 131x131x5mm (5.15x5.15x0.19") and adding even more possible variety. Reward cost £10.
Perfect for a well-timed blood sacrifice.

Because of the number of options and combinations available I've gone for a shopping list approach to pledges. Pick what you'd like and add it up and pledge for the closest amount to your total. Any excess will be taken off shipping and any remaining will be refunded or any extra will be requested, both via paypal. Backers adding on at the reward survey stage will enjoy the discounts listed against the total pledge amounts; e.g: If you back at the Mayan Artisan level (£62 of rewards for £60) and add on up to the Mayan Noble level (£105 of rewards for £100) you'll get the £105 worth of rewards.
In an effort to keep shipping costs down I'm doing a few things differently for this project. Firstly it's a flat pack kit which helps keep costs down. Secondly I'm not billing for shipping via Kickstarter as it attracts a commission which puts shipping costs up by approximately 11% which isn't too bad for UK pledges, but for international ones it's quite a hike and I want people to have my work at the best possible prices. Thirdly I'm also likely to ship larger pledges in separate packages of under two kilos each as this can also reduce costs. Finally I'll be able to calculate the exact shipping costs for each individual pledge, rather than have to over estimate on what can often be ballpark figures prior to packing and weighing. As previously all international rewards will be sent with both tracking and full insurance, this encourages both timely delivery and allows for any parcels which go missing to be rapidly replaced. Shipping will be calculated after packing, requests for funds or refunds will be via paypal, and then the items will be despatched.
For a rough idea of shipping costs I've estimated the cost of sending the base pyramid package to various destinations: UK:£11, EU:£19, US:£28, AUS:£30, NZ:£42.
All measurements are approximate and listed as width, depth and height. The pyramid model is a kit and will require assembly and painting. Digital instructions will be supplied to backers. All add-on resin pieces will require painting and possibly some small assembly. Miniatures are supplied unpainted, the Mayan miniatures have integral bases and the Tenoch miniatures are slottas but are supplied without bases.
If this proves successful I'd really like to do a second wave of Mayan inspired goodies as I've plenty more ideas and I'm very into the period.

Risks and challenges
All the masters are made, as are the master moulds, everything casts well. Once the funds drop into my account I'll make the production moulds and start casting. I've delivered on all my previous projects, and was only late on the last one due to not having all masters build, something I'm avoiding from now on.
Aside from an act of God there are no potential risks.
