This will be a CD of beautiful melodies for cello and piano created by my teacher and Holocaust Survivor, Lev Aronson.
This is a project inspired by music and teaching. My teacher, Lev Aronson, changed my life, and opened me up to musical experiences I would have never had otherwise.
I'm taking what my teacher gave me and expanding on his ideas with this project. Every piece of music on this CD I either studied with him, was inspired by his memory, or he himself composed. I'm also very excited to say that I have commisioned the world famous composer, Patrick Zimmerli, to create a solo cello piece for this CD recording.
Lev Aronson was an incredible, blossoming solo cellist in his day, but because he was interred in labor and concentration camps in World War II, he never reached his full potential as a cellist. He did not touch a cello for years while he was laboring in the camps. He has the type of story that needs to be remembered, and it's my turn to help keep his memory alive.
Lev taught some of the greatest cellists in the world today, such as Lynn Harrell and Ralph Kirshbaum, two amazing artists and teachers in their own right. He touched many, many lives, and it's time for me to give back to his memory.
This Kickstarter.com initiative will help make this CD possible!
Thank you for reading! Please, enjoy the music!
