About this project
Remember “Cheers” ? RPP would like to bring you up to speed and show you the modern day reality of working in a Bar/Restaurant. As a child we watched “Cheers” and hoped to see regular minorities as guest or even just minority bar owners as regulars on the show. Unfortunately, "Cheers" season finale show aired in the summer of 1993, which was 18 years ago; We are still looking for that Minority Bar and Restaurant Owner to watch on television. We are sure that they exist right..Hmm?. Guess we'll just have to create the television show for ourselves. So here we go: Recession Proof Productions are a group of Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts GRADUATES!! and we are together 8 years later creating goals we set years ago with our first production entitled BAR-CHICKS!
What is a Bar Chicks?
She is the OWNER, EMPLOYER NOT the EMPLOYEE, She is NOT ONLY the Bartender but she is the local SOCIAL WORKER, THERAPIST, MOTHER, FRIEND and PROVIDER for so many people that she employ's and serve on a daily basis! We would like to expose you to who they really are; As we go inside 2 Atlanta, GA Bars owned/operated by BLACK WOMEN! Or should we say Double-Minorities! As we strive to bring you a reality show: REAL REALITY! Bar-Chicks!
Finally realizing their “30’s” are the new “20’s,” two Detroit female close relatives found solace in the south after moving to Atlanta, GA where they designed a life of fulfillment through cuisine and specialty drinks, to find themselves as Bar Chicks.
Che’ Moore: Absent from the dating scene for a few years after a divorce, Che desperately leaves her managerial position of a bar that she re-structured and turned around called "Banana Wind" and relocates exactly (two doors down) and pursues her dreams of becoming an executive chef by opening up “GEORGIA PEACH” her own establishment . Right in Atlanta's hottest tourist attraction (Atlanta Underground), Che' soon realizes life changing obstacles, triumphs, success and barriers while on this path to brand her name and packaged foods.
Shannon Stuckey: The fun spirited, energetic and spontaneous new manager of Banana Wind where she enjoys her new job at "Banana Wind BAR". Shannon is known as the night life REDHAIRDONTCARE! rock star and Che’s cousin, who followed Che’s path to Atlanta after repeated layoffs by a major automobile company in Michigan. Shannon also has a fun loving Youtube show where she discusses lesbian relationships, events and the hottest mobile trends and gadgets on her YOUTUBE program, "yourfavbartendersfavbartender".
Bar-Chicks will bring you frequent celebrity guest appearances, open mic nights, angry customers, winos from the Underground. We will take you inside Che’s opportunity to establish her brand of cooked foods and Shannon deciding to relinquish Banana Wind to assist her cousin, or stay in the bar-fight until the liquors all gone, this reality show is more than just dueling restaurants. Bar- Chicks will show :Triumphs of WOMEN- taking over a male dominated industry of owning and running the night life! Welcome to BAR-CHICKS.... comming soon to a major broadcast network!!!
