After 3 years of working at this musical project, the final stages are at hand, and we can’t wait to get this record out. This album represents a journey through a new phase of my life. The time when mortality sets in to one's psyche in a way that serves to inspire a life fully lived and expressed. Confronting this and simultaneously living in a world marked by war and conflict, this music serves as a conduit in my quest for an authentic, creative life. In the first year of recording demos for L'Amourita, my beloved dog Dylan succumbed to cancer after 12 sweet years together. In the second year of recording, and during the first weekend of us putting down basic tracks, I lost my inspiring Grandmother Mary, who served as a model of unconditional love in my life. This album is dedicated to the memory of these two guiding souls.
The recording was done at Bungalow 9 Studio in SE Portland, Oregon by engineer and co-producer Danny O'Hanlon. It is now time to hire a specialized recording engineer to master the final recording, and we want to get the best mastering sound possible. We need the record to sound like the same high quality music you hear on the radio. The final productions of CD including artwork and replication can cost as much, if not more, than the costs of making the actual recording. Our goal is to raise enough money through your contributions to master the recording as well as produce several hundred CD’s for the Release Party. Any contributions over our goal of $2000 will go to international publicity for the release as well as the further costs of CD manufacturing and replication, etc... We greatly appreciate your support and can’t wait to share this record with you.
With much love,
Matt “The Don”
