BUENO KEY - STRAP LINE
A film about the art that changed a drug dealer's life and how it saved his relationship, with the love of his life.
BUENO KEY is a British drama about three characters trapped in a world of addiction; an ugly world of drug dealing and drug taking, and risking it all on the horses. BUENO KEY is a powerful story about how we must sacrifice all that we know to become all that we can be. This sacrifice begins with a phone call to a drama coach. Proving that art can change lives.
WHY ARE WE MAKING THIS FILM?
"middle class dyslexics go to art school working class dyslexics go to prison"
After a long discussion about the above statement DYSPLA and writer Dean Stalham decided to create a series of projects that comment on education and social standing. Bueno Key is the first in that series.
"I want to make this film to show that people in a seemingly hopeless situation can change; and that change is often found in the most diverse places, which gives hope to all, especially those that believe all hope is gone." Writer Dean Stalham
DYSPLA and the writer believe passionately that people need positive options and our protagonist seeks these options in the form of Artistic enlightenment.
Our main protagonist changes his life because of his new relationship with art. We want to make BUENO KEY because the film explores the idea that people make choices based on social positioning. People therefore need to have positive options in their life, if they are to make positive choices.
Everyone, regardless of their social background, deserves the right to change; and our film is about how our protagonist finds the courage to change after his exposure to the arts. BUENO KEY aims to tackle big social questions and with your help the conversation will engage many.
Dean has had his work produced by Channel 4 and The Royal Court Theatre. Dean also runs Made Corrections, an Arts organisation focusing on Artistic Projects involving Judicial System.
“The work that Dean Stalham does is invaluable – He believes passionately in art saving lives, always making good on this promise’s. His projects in the visual arts, performance and education give people who have lost their way back their dignity, enabling them to move forward. ’
