When I Close My Eyes: a book of art
Artist Heather Theurer is putting together an art book loaded with amazing, fantastical paintings and is headed for the N.Y. Comic-Con.
When I Close My Eyes, a book of art will be a collection of drawings, concept art and full paintings of real life and everything else the mind can conjure up in the dark of night.
Art is like life -- it's a process. One extended chain of linked experiences. Over the years I've kept many of the experiences of my life and dreams I've had in visual form. Some as rough sketches, some as detailed drawings and others as oversized oil paintings. A few have been seen by others at the handful of shows I've attended. Most wait quietly hidden in the dark recesses of my closet.
I know some of them are just itching to get out.
So, having said that, I am really looking forward to sharing with you this book. It will be a collection of my concept sketches, drawings and completed paintings as well as some of my thoughts on the experiences that led to them.
With a little bit of help from you, even the smallest amount, I can get this book into the hands of those who love art. On a crazy bit of luck I've been offered an exhibit space at the New York Comic-Con this October as well. Each and every penny earned will go to the production of the book, paying for the exhibit space, travel expenses to stay in New York and everything else that goes into sharing what i do with the world. If I make it there and you happen to be one of the fortunate few with a ticket to the Con, come find me and I'd be more than happy to sign stuff in person, or just hang out!
Oh, yeah. And I've got some really great rewards for you too. They're over there... you know... in that column to the right. Enjoy!
