From the team that created the #1-rated Newton Crib Mattress comes the latest breakthrough in child safety — the Newton Crib Mattress Pad.
We decided to reinvent the ordinary crib mattress pad to achieve safer and better sleep. Our solution was to quilt together two layers of 3-dimensional spacer material, creating a 3/8" cushion of circulating, fresh air on the surface of the crib mattress.
We designed the Newton Crib Mattress Pad for a universal fit. The stretchable skirt and elastic bottom allow it to fit any standard size crib mattress. This design also allows it to be easily removed for washing in the middle of the night.
Look who’s talking about us!
The American Association of Pediatricians (AAP) strongly recommends that parents place their infants to sleep on their backs. However, 3 to 4 months after being born, babies begin rolling over during the night. Many babies even discover that they prefer sleeping on their stomach.
After designing our revolutionary crib mattress pad, our next step was to seek independent verification of our safety findings. To do this, we enlisted a U.S. Consumer Product Safety Council (CPSC) certified testing lab to do ‘before and after’ testing using conventional crib mattresses.
A good night’s sleep is crucial to a baby’s health and development. We designed the Newton Crib Mattress Pad to help babies sleep better. This is accomplished by adding an additional layer of breathable spacer fabric on top of the soft cushion layer. The added air circulation prevents babies — who can’t regulate their body temperature — from overheating.
Droppings from dust mites are a leading cause of allergic reactions and upper respiratory problems. They need a humid environment (like a sweaty mattress) to breed. Air circulation keeps the humidity below the necessary level, making it impossible for dust mites to breed.
Including a TPU layer with our Breathe-Thru Technology adds the waterproof protection that parents seek while being 100% breathable and washable.
The mattress pad is 100% machine washable. Easy, fast, safe care by simply washing by hand or throwing the pad in the washer. Hang dry or tumble on a low heat for best results. For quick late night clean ups, always have a backup on hand! Easy to store and easy to wash.
Parents love the peace of mind, washability and better sleep they get from the Newton Crib Mattress. They’ve made us the #1 rated baby crib mattress on the Internet. With this proven track record of customer satisfaction, you can trust that we will deliver on our promise and give your little one safer, better sleep.
Every inch of the Newton Crib Mattress was designed with your baby’s health, safety, and comfort in mind. The innovative Breathe-Thru design allows air to flow freely for optimal breathability and temperature regulation. Our 2-stage Newton Crib Mattress' design gives it a unique longevity through toddler years.

Risks and challenges
We’ve addressed the technical and production challenges and have built several prototypes. Tests by independent parties and by our very own employees with children confirmed that they deliver the superior air circulation that we wanted our mattress pads to have. Many of us at Newton Baby are parents of infants and toddlers and we’ve put it through the gamut of use and wear and tear. Parent tested and approved!
The remaining risks and challenges pertain to bringing this excellent product to market. Mass manufacturing a specialty sleep product made from high quality materials is a capital-intensive process, and will require significant investment. Marketing the product and fulfilling orders will also entail significant expenses, including advertising, web hosting, packaging and shipping. We anticipate that this project will need to be fully funded on Kickstarter in order to hit its manufacturing, marketing and fulfillment goals. Your contribution will help us bring this lovingly crafted infant mattress pad to market, and bring a safer, better night’s sleep to babies—and parents—around the world.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
