Big Halloween News: We Have a Release Date!
The DoubleBear team has some extra-special, ultra-awesome news for you to celebrate Halloween: Dead State has a release date!
That's right: on December 4th, 2014 - just over a month away - Dead State will emerge from the cocoon of Early Access and transform into a beautiful, fully matured game!
On top of that, later today we plan to release Patch #4 chock full of delicious, gooey content, features, and fixes, so keep an eye out for that. Pretty sweet Halloween treats, right?
Aside from Patch #4 going out later today/tonight, we plan to release one final patch before the launch; after that, we’re going to focus our full attention on fixing, balancing, and polishing Dead State until we run full speed across the finish line. All you have to do is keep playing, having fun, and sharing your feedback with us, and we’ll do the rest.
Please help us out by spreading the word about the launch date - take to Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, and your other social networks / forums of choice and give them the good news. After all, it's only decent to warn your friends about the coming apocalypse :)
Happy Halloween, everyone - may your undead slaying be merry!
P.S. Another bonus for you - check out our preview of the Dead State OST. Five full songs for you to enjoy!

Christina on the Dead State board confirmed that they'll be dropping on GOG the same day as the Steam release (or more accurately, that's the plan, since anyone who's been around knows there's many a slip on such things) and that those of use who wanted the non-DRM version can acquire ours through there (I have no idea how they do that; I'm guessing using the gift function or some such).

I have been waiting for this! I only tried beta once when it came out.

I am hoping that backers would get a GOG key, as I want to support stores that are dedicated to DRM-free media.

So where do the $85 pledge rewards stand? Will the USB drive with the game preloaded be delivered near the same time as the all digital release?

Awesome! I've been following this game for a couple of years before it was kickstarted. So excited to finally be able to play the final game.

I have some questions for Doublebear regarding this update:
- It does not mention a gog release, while the pc gamer article mentions it will launch on both steam and gog. So i would like confirmation if a gog release is happening.
- If the game does release on gog, will backers receive or, can ask for a gog key if they already activated the steam key for early acess, and if not, can we ask to revoke the steam key and receive a gog key instead.
I think this has been discussed before but there were alot of things not certain before, so with a release date on sight, id like to be sure of my options.

Hopefully we'll see simultaneous DRM-free release as the Steam :)

Look forward to getting something. I haven't followed the development too closely so it will all be fresh to me.

That's exciting news. I'll have to give it another whirl.
